Trump's second impeachment : https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/n...nald-trump-impeachment-trial/4405437001/5 Republican Senators who voted the impeachment process was Constitutional (it wasn't) :
Mitt Romney (Utah), Ben Sasse (Nebraska), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Pat Toomey (Pennsylvania)
and 10 other Republican Senators who wouldn't defend Trump or commit to oppose the Salem Witch Trial second impeachment :
Bill Cassidy(Louisiana), Mike Crapo (Idaho), Jerry Moran (Kansas), Todd Young (Indiana), Deb Fischer (Nebraska), Richard Shelby (Alabama), Daniel Sullivan (Alaska), Rob Portman (Ohio), Jim Risch (Idaho), Mitch McConnell (Kentucky).
In the case of minority leader Mitch McConnell, Trump aggressively campaigned for Sen. McConnell in a very close race that McConnell absolutely would have lost without Trump's support.
And yet just a few weeks later McConnell slandered Trump as "inciting the violence" that occurred on Jan 6th. But McConnell, putting his finger to the wind, felling the pending blowback by his voters, at the last minute voted to oppose impeachment in the final vote.
I see the 10 non-committal Republicans as all RINO opportunists who tried to side against Trump, but massive national support for Trump by Republican voters made them back off, and timidly vote against the 2nd impeachment attempt. But they showed their true colors, and only voted the right way under pressure from their voters.
But they would have stepped on Trump's corpse and pushed it deep in the mud to advance themselves, if their own voters wouldn't have angrily turned on them for it.
