REP MIKE JOHNSON (R-LA) VOTED IN AS NEW SPEAKER, WITH 217 VOTES

I still think Jim Jordan would have been a strong and decisive speaker, if not obstructed from winning by the RINO /establishment/deep state wing of he Republican House
Jim Jordan was obstructed by a secret ballot after only 3 votes, whereas sellout Kevin McCarthy was given 15 ballots before he finally won.

Jim Jordan was only 20 votes short, and then only 22 votes short on the 3rd vote. He could have won on another vote if given the chance.
The Deep State thought they could get someone like Emmer in. Another Boehner, Ryan or McCarhy. Trump publicly commenting about Emmer quickly killed his candidacy, though, fortunately.

I'm okay with how it worked out. Rep. Mike Johnson is a trustworthy conservative choice, I've seen him in a number of hearings.

And Jim Jordan remains head of the House judiciary committee, where he is much needed on investigations of Joe and Hunter Biden corruption, and on weaponization of the FBI and other federal agencies against conservatives, so that might arguably be where Jim Jordan's talents can remain most effective.
Investigations that McCarthy or Emmer or Steve Scalise would have softpedaled on.
