When Biden tried to work with republicans on the border, Trump told them not to and like sheep they comply. So border security is an important issue but instead of trying to fix what they can they instead obstruct any type of legislation on it that might take away from Trump’s campaign rhetoric. That’s how important the issue is to the gop. It’s just a tool for fear mongering at this point.
