That one really is a "grass is orange, not green" world view.
I was hoping that someone would mention Mark Robinson. A self-confessed "black Nazi" who would have "bought a slave or two" is a doozy. Is the strategy here that voters will just forget come November because there is so much shit flying around so that it is hard to latch onto one thing? Or is it just that voters are so partisan across the board that it doesn't make a difference? Or that it just doesn't matter because he's the governor of a state, not a Presidential candidate, and NC voters will sort him out in the next election?
Mark is currently Lt Governor and I think this might actually do him in here. We've somehow managed to elect a blue governor despite going red in the presidential election for two cycles now. Trump's struggles and the whole sordid sloe trickle of awful things Robinson had said and done left him weak. This over the top nature of this latest drop may just depress GOP turnout enough that NC stays blue at the state level. I don't currently believe it will be enough to flip the state in the presidential election though.
