Why Trump is pissing me off this time around isn't so much what he's doing. I actually agree with reducing the size of government and renegotiating trade with other nations and other such things, but I'll be damned if he isn't doing those things like a god damned maniac. A trade war with China needs allies and he alienated some of our most important by doing the across the board tariff thing. As someone whose first discomfort with our deal with China was no later than seeing China Construction of America signage all over the construction of new campus buildings in college 20 years ago, we need someone with more finesse doing this. I doubt the deal will be good or real, but I have a feeling he's going to knuckle under and call a return to basically the status quo a win. The big budget package needs to include some serious funding changes to make his executive order laborforce reductions something of a fait accompli in the face of legal challenges. Leave Powell and the Fed alone. Exercise some restraint on the deportation side of things. He doesn't need to alienate many to alienate enough to possibly turn one house of Congress blue. I think his attacking everything all at once is doing that. Outside of some very real things, however, most everything else coming from the right and left surrounding his presidency is just noise trying to cancel out the other side's noise. I'm mostly just shrugging these four years.

Iggy all I can say is I hope you change your mind on shrugging. Trump will continue to destroy the country and consolidate his power amid the chaos. Small government but big military to use against the populace. This is about him having more control over all of us.

He's a senile moron who has no idea of what's he doing.

Look at all the lying and backpedaling so far.

A complete clusterfuck, and the GOP is too afraid of the MAGA cultists to do anything about it.

.

On how accurate and unbiased the media has been over the last 5 or so years, using NPR (and its CEO, interviewed in Congressional hearings in this example) ...

... the answer is... NOT accurate, and VERY biased.
And NPR (along with the other dominant 80% Orwellian Newspeak liberal media) is now PROVEN to have gotten all three most important national stories of the last 5 years completely wrong, deliberately wrong,
With an NPR staff (according to a now-blacklisted and harassed NPR reporter who revealed it) that NPR's repeated failures to objectively report the news, stem from NPR's extreme bias, that he worked with 87 liberal/Democrat reporters, and ZERO Republicans.

Asked by multiple House members about about NPR's gonzo egregious bias, NPR's CEO. Katherine Maher says... she doesn't know nothin' about nothin'.
And how she just "doesn't recall" dozens of social media posts SHE PERSONALLY made online, and pretends now she doesn't believe the racist, white supremacist, and deeply anti-American things she clearly said. Clearly, the PROVEN bias of NPR is in complete ideological alignment with HER OWN radical leftist biases.

One billion percent.

This all demonstrates the mainstream liberal media's broader bias, the media's partisan need to protect the Democrat side and not report objectively, and how the collective liberal media are continuing to do the exact same now, as they have for the last 5 years, 8 years, 10 years. Giving 100% negative coverage to Trump, no matter what he has proven to be right about over and over in those years.
And that the media have proven to be wrong about, over and over.

Jerome Powell has abused the Federal Reserve powers as a Democrat weapon, illogically lowering interest rates twice right before the 2024 election, to try and get Joe Biden / Kamala Harris re-elected.
And has since malevolently raised interest rates after inauguration, to slow the economy and damage Trump going into the 2026 mid-terms. Trump has every right to point that out, and do whaever he sees fit to resolve that abuse. Trump's instincts have been right, theirs have been hands-down wrong across those years.
Likewise Janet Yellin's actions across the last few years. Whether by accident or design, Yellin's public comments have damaged the economy, very likely in the attempt to damage Trump politically.

Trump was decisively elected to do EXACTLY what he is doing. He uses unpredictable tactics to win in negotiations, and to disorient his opposition.
I know two people who have had personal dealings with Trump, one a high-selling real estate agent who interviewed with and almost worked for Trump. And the other a Wall Street executive, who said in his firm's meeting with Trump, Trump got everything he needed in the first hour of their negotiations, but prolonged the negotiations for several hours, to get every penny he wanted.
Both told me separately that Trump never enters a situation without a likelihood of winning.
And look at the last 8 years, how many times has Trump been right, and the media wrong?

Take that under consideration, before taking at face value what the media is currently selling.

MEM, I get you concern and appreciate it, but I honestly don't see either party really reckoning with the inevitable that we're facing. I think large parts of what's included and what's not in the OBBB are disturbing (not touching SS, for example, or the large amounts of pork). That said, somehow, the Dems can't seem to find a single workable alternative to rally people behind. Instead, I'm promised largely more of what made Trump electable to begin with. Whoopity-doo!

What’s the inevitable? Under Clinton the deficit was actually reduced. We can get back on that path but it’s going to have to include going back to taxing the wealthy. Since the 80’s we’ve been stuck with trickle down economics. It’s time for true change.
