How many people even know there was an election in Canada?
Here are the results:

I've said this before, at least 30 years ago I read an article, that Canada is our closest ally, we share a huge border with Canada, we share more culturally with Canada than any other nation, and yet news about events in Canada barely get any mention in American media.

Now there's an election, and Canadians, by a roughly 43% to 41% ratio, narrowly re-elected the Liberal party to remain in power.

Hopeless liberal basket-case Trudeau drove his country into the ground the last few years, much like Biden did simultaneously in the U.S., and like Biden, was enormously unpopular.
And so Trudeau resigned early, to allow his party to select new leadership to have a better chance going into the new election.

And Canada is majority-liberal enough that it allowed another from his party to narrowly get elected and hang on to power.
Which is basically the equivalent of a Kamala Harris/Tim Walz win in Canada, so from the U.S., we'll be able to further watch from the sidelines as they burn Canada to the ground over the next few years.
The Canadians, unlike the U.S., apparently haven't had enough pain yet. It's like in destroyed leftist California, they know liberals are destroying California, but they just can't bring themselves to vote conservative, no matter how bad it has become.

So now Canada has liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney. The insane choice of choosing the same party and expecting a different result.
Good luck with that, Canada. Pop another bag of popcorn.

From this article on Canada's elecion, in the New York Post:

The reader comments are the best part. Here's a sampling :

Haha, they showed us! Business as usual in over taxed, under served Canada. They'll be coming here for their health care for the foreseeable future. The rich one's will anyway. The poor ones will just lump it as in years past.

Now it makes sense!...I think Trump did this on purpose and wanted the liberals to win, because the liberals will further weaken Canada and it's economy, eventually making them more desperate to make a deal with Trump to save themselves. It wouldn't be in Trump's interest for the conservatives to win because they would strengthen the economy in Canada and he'd have less leverage over them to make a better deal for the U.S.

The Canadian dollar has plummeted in value while the cost of housing has doubled. And Canadians keep the problem party in power. Good luck .

It was done on purpose, the inevitable collapse of Canada will open the floodgates for Conservatives Canadians to flee to the United States. You can expect an additional 800,000 or more Republican voters by 2028 due to the fact that marketable skills and the NAFTA agreement puts them on a 2 year fast track for citizenship.

It’s been sad seeing Trump trash relationships between our friends and allies just to feed his ego. I look at all his failed businesses and all the fools that have so much faith in him.

That is, of course, the Democrat narrative of what Trump is doing, not what Trump is actually doing.

Trump is negotiating equal and proportionate tariffs with the nations that have been fleecing us for decades with unfair trade practices. And the evidence is nations across the world have renewed respect for the U.S. that they did not have during he Obama and Biden years.

I'm not really sure what the full purpose of Trump's talk about "making Canada the 51st state" is all about. But it's clearly unserious, and trolling both Trudeau and the ineffectual Canadian Left, and also trolling and riling up Democrats into a derangement syndrome frenzy here in the U.S.
I've also thought, after Canadians' initial anger about the idea of Canada becoming part of the U.S., that when that anger cools off, they might ponder the idea that they might actually be better off as part of the U.S.

But again, I think Trump is not serious about making Canada part of the U.S., at least not until a decade or so in the future, where Canadians have suffered so much under severaal adminisrattions of liberal/leftist control of Canada that they will as a whole become far more conservative.

There are some states of Canada that are much more conservative, that I could see seceding and offering to become part of the United States, such as Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. But the rest of Canada is much more like California, Oregon, Washington, New York state and Massachusetts.
To have all of Canada join the U.S. would just give Democrats a permanent majority in the U.S.

As I said, I see Trump's comments as unserious.
But it is fun to watch leftists on both sides of the border lose their minds over the idea being floated by Trump.

You believe conservatives in Canada are enjoying Trump’s numerous comments about Canada too?

While I don't think Caanada as a whole will want to become America's 51st state, I think there are very possibly whole states of Canada that might want to appeal to the U.S. to depart Canada and become U.S. states.

And because they as conservatives feel marginalized and unrepresented, they welcome and enjoy Trump's criticism of Canada's liberal party leadership.

I think Trump's rhetoric on the issue could be said more artfully and eloquently, he doesn't say it the way I would say it.
But then.... I didn't get elected president of he United States three times. smile

So while what Trump's saying to the new Canadian president is a little cringy for me, he does show decades manipulating public arguens in the media to accomplish deals, and knows how to motivate people and get things done.

I'm frankly much more comfortable with his rhetoric about securing the U.S border, and Trump reaching out to Denmark to purchase Greenland, and to the people of Greenland ( who clearly love Trump and the idea of being part of the U.S., to the point of recently greeting Donald Trump Jr. enthusiastically, all wearing MAGA hats), and his rhetoric about reclaiming U.S. dominion over Panama, and already making good on that rhetoric and securing the Panama Canal in just his first 3 months in office.

I is a FACT that Russia and China have been frequenting hese areas with ships, moving toward naval control of these regions for years (and the Bahamas, and the Canada/U.S. polar region) and it's either those hostile nations or the U.S. who will control them. So I'm glad Trump is moving through diplomacy, if sometimes aggressive diplomacy, toward controlling those places, for U.S. economic and national security reasons.

Likewise, Trump is reaching out in his hamfisted aggressive way to Canada. And even if Canada remains soveriegn (which I fully expect they will), they will at least know there's a deal on the table to some kind of closer partnership with the U.S.
Which may have been Trump's actual plan all along.

This actually reminds me of a Greg Gutfeld joke:
That Ireland is imposing a 1,000% tax on all U.S. goods, until we agree to take Rosie O'Donnell back.

Trump didn’t get elected 3 times either and I suspect the Trump jr visit was very much staged. Trump has used the art of the deal to fail in a long lists of businesses. Steaks, Casinos, universities etc etc. He’s good at insulating himself from losing money at others expense. That gives me no comfort in whatever he’s trying to achieve here. So far it’s just destroying our relationship with our closest ally by intentionally insulting and threatening them.

You selectively ignore that Trump has also had a long chain of successes, recently quadrupling his fortune with a public stock offering for TruthSocial, at almost the exact same time Democrat-Bolshevik lawfare fines charged him $850 million dollars over a fake rigged trial in the E. Jean Carroll case, and the Leticia James bogus case, alleging Trump over-estimated property value of Mar A Lago to secure a loan business loan from Deutsche Bank.
For which Deutsche Bank said in testimony their property assessors independently appraised Mar A Lago at the same value as Trump's own property assessors, that Trump never missed or was even late on a single payment. That Trump repayed the loan in full, and gave Deutsche Bank an enormous profit from the loan.
And that Deutsche Bank was very pleased with its loan transaction with Trump, and would gladly do business with Trump again.

WHERE is the fraud, WHERE is the crime? WHERE is the victim in this case? It doesn't exist.
This is just malicious prosecution and lawfare, pure and simple.

( In beautiful irony, it turns out that it was New York attorney general and prosecutor Leticia James who faked HER real estate and loan records, and committed fraud with the loans on multiple properties SHE owns.
And it looks, with overwhelming evidence against her, that she will soon be going to jail for that fraud.
Even as the fraud allegations against Trump will be reversed on appeal for their incredible bias, rigged evidence, for its judge-shopped partisan Trump-hating liberal judge, and the rigged jury by Leticia James putting the trial in a venue location with a 92% Trump-hating Democrat jury.

I became aware about 15 years ago, that many successful business owners previously had a business that went bankrupt. That they each learned from the failure, how to run the business better when they made a second attempt at running a business.
So... in over 50 years of running businesses, many of them very successfully, it seems rather vindictive of you to focus on the few that didn't turn out well, as you ignore Trump's many successful ventures.

As far as "what Trump is trying to achieve here", I think it's clearly a case where Trump is worth billions, with far more money than he or his heirs can ever spend, and in both his first and second terms, Trump has no money motive for being president. He is a patriot who wants to give back to the country. He wants that to be his legacy, that he came in as president and saved the country, that he made it strong and independent again from China and the globalists and socialist/Marxists.
Which of course, you will never give him credit for. Because YOU are a Democrat-Bolshevik socialist, out to smear and destroy Trump any way you can.

As I've cited repeatedly, Trump takes no salary as president, he takes the legally required 1 dollar per year, and in his quarterly payments, donates his presidential salary to charities. Unlike Bill and Hillary Clinton, unlike the Obamas, he doesn't exploit or profit from his time as president, Trump actually dropped in net worth in his first 4 years as president.
And then only increased his fortune by billions due to the stock offering for TruthSocial, completely unrelated to his presidency.

And by the way: Yes, Trump was elected THREE times :

1) Trump won in an electoral landslide in 2016.

2) Trump was winning in all 7 battleground states up until 3 AM on election night 2020, at which point Democrat controlled voting centers in those states sent home Republican vote observers, or kicked out Republican vote observers, or in Atlanta faked a water main break and sent Republican observers home, with only Democrats after counting votes all night, and ONLY THEN did a dramaic change and spike in votes for Biden "magically" occur, just enough to push him narrowly over the finish line in 6 states. On rigged fake ballots, fake votes, rigged counts inside the voting centers, and manipulation of votes on the Dominion voting machines.
After the election, it was discovered that Mark Zuckerberg invested tens of millions in setting up mail-in ballot drop boxes, but ONLY in Democrat-voting districts.
"Mules" came forward, and admitted to being paid by the Democrat party to each stuff drop-boxes with thousands of fake ballots (Dinesh D'Souza made a documentary on that evidence)
And Elon Musk, afer purchasing Twitter, revealed the abundant evidence of social media giants, along with FBI and CIA operatives, coordinating in an illegal way to further rig the 2020 election, in "Twitter-gate" .
Collectively all this, in what I've termed "multiple streams of election fraud" by the Democrats done to rig the 2020 election.

And with a cheating system this enormous and diverse, probably rigged previous elections too, going back at least 20 years.
So yes, Trump won in 2020 too, before it was rigged overnight after 3 AM, and then further rigged in the weeks after, with tons more fake mail-in ballots

3) And needless to say, Trump won in an even more overwhelming landslide in 2024.
I think even the 22 states Kamala Harris "won", as they were states that didn't require voter ID verification, were likely most or all rigged, to give Kamala Harris even that level of voter support in Nov 2024.
With verification and elimination of all the illegal immigrants voting on "motor-voter" ID illegally (at least 3 million in California alone), and if all the other multiple streams of Democrat election fraud were removed, it would likely have been a 50-state landslide for Trump in 2024, or close to it.

And I hope this voter fraud, that we've been talking about since at least 2012, is finally cleaned out before the 2026 and 2028 elections.

Alberta, Saskatchewan and oher predominantly conservaive states in Canada feel unrepresented by he liberal government, and are moving toward cessession. If they leave, other states will follow, and withoutt them and heir essenial farmlandbreadbasket and oil production, the remaining Canadian government cannot survive.

Make Canada Great Again !!
