Those were the days. I think of them when I read old comics that contain advertisements of upcoming fall season premiers, and many have obscure cartoons that only lasted that season. I did get some collections on DVD, but I can't really watch them on Saturday mornings because I work mornings then.

What I also miss are the 'we'll be right back' messages and the PSA messages and news clips. Just to name a few from memory, NBC had "Betcha Don't Know" "One To Grow On" and "The More You Know", and CBS had "In The News." My sisters and I especially loved "Willie Survive" which had three segments total on ABC. Cell phones and GPS's didn't exist back then so there's no need to air some of these today, but we still loved them. Here's one of the three:
