If Dave's "sources" have taught me anything, it's if something happens that is good, it's because of Trump and/or Republicans.
If something bad happens, it's the fault of liberals/Dems/Liberal Dem Marxists or whatever that is.
Okaay, you're just havin' fun with the Jon Stewart quote, and granted, it's not Donald Trump's most eloquent answer to a press question.
But Trump is essentially correct.
From 2017-2020 Trump was president, oil prices went down by half, from about $3.60 to about $1.80 a gallon. In 2021, those fuel prices skyrocketed due to bad policy, as soon as Biden (or his Auto-pen) became president. Because the Democrats had horrible policy.
Under Trump's first term, the United States became oil-independent for the first time in 72 years. In 2021 in less than 4 years, Biden (or his Auto-pen) destroyed domestic oil production, so we were going to nations like Venezuela and Saudi Arabia BEGGING for them to produce more oil to send us. And they in no uncertain terms to Biden said "NO", and fuck you.
Biden spent 7 trillion in pointless added debt in just 4 years, causing hyperinflaion, an average of at least 25% inflation on everything, and over 100% inflation on monthly home mortgage payments and other things.
Biden undermined law enforcement and set criminals free, aided by Soros funded D.A.'s and Soros-funded U.S. attorneys like Alvin Bragg, who refused to prosecute violent criminals, which resuled in a massive escalation in violent crime and murders nationwide. Particularly in Democrat-run major cities such as New York, Chicago, Seattle, Minneapolis, L.A., Baltimore and Washington DC. There are any number of 30 minute and 1-hour documentaries that run late at night or on weekends on Newsmax, that detail the facts on this , that the Democrat-aligned mainstream media ignores and pretends doesn't exist. But black voters in particular came out for Trump, because their neighborhoods are the hardest hit by this escalation of crime nationwide.
An estimated 20 million illegals entered during Biden's 4 years, when Biden his first month destroyed the most secure border in U.S. history, that Trump had built in his first 4 years.
And an additional estimated 2 million "got-aways" during Biden's 4 years, illegal immigrants who entered the country completely avoiding border patrol, and only a percentage were seen on border security cameras. How many thousands of citizens have these people murdered, raped, robbed, kidnapped, burglarized, or caused to die by Fentanyl and other smuggled drugs?
It's less than 6 months now into Trump's second term as president, and in his first 5 months, he has brought that number entering illegally from about 13,500 a day, down to zero. ZERO. About 6,200 entered and were apprehended and processed by Border Patrol in June 2025, but were all deported. ZERO entered the United States.
If Biden or Kamala Harris were still president, we would be approaching World War III. But because Trump is in office, there is peace developing in Gaza, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and ultimately Iran. Because of Trump's decisive action (and Israel's, with the full support of Trump).
Trump has additionally negotiated peace between India and Pakistan in the las few monhs, that was about to become a major war.
And also negotiated peace in sub-Saharan Africa, a decades long war between the Democratic Republic of Congo and other neighboring states, bringing another senseless bloody conflict to an end.
And also Trump's Sate Department also negoiated peace between Serbia and Kosovo.
And if Biden or Kamala Harris had remained in the White House, all these conflicts would be escalating, not ending.
Biden pretty much gave Russia an invitation to invade Ukraine. When at a press conference in early 2022, asked if the U.S. would act to protect Ukraine from a Russian invasion, he said "No if it's just aa small incursion". So 2 weeks later, Russia invaded. Something Russia would NEVER have done if Trump had remained president instead of Biden.
There are over 1 million dead on both sides now in the Ukraine war. Russia has lost more tanks in Ukraine than it lost in all of World War II.
And while Joe Biden was president, the Russians called the White House FOR THREE YEARS, ALMOST EVERY DAY, and neither Biden or anyone in his administration would pick up the phone to even atempt to negotiate a resolution. For THREE YEARS.
Trump immediately began negotiations with Russia. I think Trump tried to negotiate with Putin to let Putin end the war without being humiliated. But since Putin keeps promising and not actually delivering a peaceful resolution as promised across multiple attempted negotiations, in the last few days Trump has gotten Saudi Arabia and other nations to increase oil production, that will vastly lower the global price per barrel of oil over the next few weeks (Russia's primary economic resource, and what funds their war economy), and if the price of oil goes below $50 per barrel, that will cut off Russia's funds so they are no longer able to continue the war in Ukraine.
This is what Trump could have done the first day he was re-inaugurated, but he tried to give Putin an easier and face-saving way out. But now Trump will do what has to be done, and the global drop in oil prices will force Russia to end to the Ukraine war.
And China, that was preparing for an invasion of Taiwan by 2027, would have done so if Biden or Kamala Harris had remained in the White House. But with Trump in office, China is severely weakened, both politically and economically, and is now deterred by a resurgent U.S. military, and a decisive president Trump who will not hesitate to use it. In addition to the bombing 2 weeks ago destroying Iran's nuclear program, it was also an added deterrent to China, if they had any further plans to invade Taiwan.
And the over $ 8 trillion of investment into the U.S. economy, into A.I., into factories and other development since Trump became president. Money that would not be invested in the U.S. economy if Biden, Harris or any other Democrat, or many other Republicans candidates were in charge. Because they are "Democratic Socialists" / COMMUNISTS who believe in PUNISHING businesses and capital earnings, believe in an oppressive "tax the rich" central federal government. And if these Democrat-Bolsheviks were in charge they would further be crushing the fossil fuel industry, crusshing energy production and AI, and every other kind of business.
Because Democrats under Biden/JKamala were preventing any further oil drilling in the United States, the deposits left when Trump was elected would be drying up now, and gas would be approaching $9 / gallon, and FURTHER causing inflation and rising costs for the middle class and poor, FURTHER destroying the economy. But because Trump was elected this was prevented, just in the nick of time. Inflation is already dropping lower than 2%, in just Trump's first 5 months after inauguration. Domestic drilling of new deposits is back in production.
So... what part of this sounds like it was going better under the Democrats? Pretty much on every front, Biden / Harris / the Democrats were acting ideologically in a way that was bad for the U.S. economy, bad for U.S. national security, was escalating crime and violence nationally, was hostile and dangerous to police, hostile to Border Patrol agents, to ICE. And Biden's ending sanctions on Russia and Iran gave them hundreds of billions to fund wars worldwide.
What part of that were the Democrats pushing good policy, and Trump pushing bad policy? I looks to me that despite Jon Stewart's animated silliness in a total absence of facts, that Trump was right across the board, and has incredibly fixed virtually everything Biden destroyed in an incredible first 5 months as president.
