Throwing a sandwich at a police officer is actual physical contact, and therefore violent assault. He could have been throwing acid or hot soup at the officer, but in any case it was physical assault on a police officer. But I wouldn't give him any serious jail time, just 30 days or less to teach him a lesson. He did strike an officer.
And my favorite part was the sandwich throwing leftist was a DOJ employee, and once that was known, he was immediately fired. Because he revealed himself to be a Kevin Clinesmitth-variety "resist" kind of guy, who would be using his DOJ job to slow-walk and undermine any policy Donald Trump or A G Pam Bondi ordered.
So he's gone.
Any prosecution is not necessary, but I'd just like to see him have to pay for a lawyer and fight an expensive FBI prosecution, just like the innocent Jan 6th protesters, pro-life protesters, PTA protesters, and Trump officials had to, and other innocent people arrested under Biden had to under Biden's weaponized DOJ. Let him taste the fire he unleashed for 4 years on these innocent people.
