Like I said, all Trump did was make an off-the-cuff remark about "maybe" he would take away broadcast rights for stations that violate FCC laws with their deliberate mis-use of the airwaves, and deliberately broadcast unrelentting one-sded partisan Democrat lies night after night, that is often 90 to 100% anti-Trump / anti-Republican. And that really precedes Trump. It's not that Trump is such a "threat to democracy, constitutional crisis"
that they are alleging this by Trump. The same Democrat and liberal media narrative has been aimed at every Republican president or candidate for the last 25 years.
To me, what Trump's doing is like waving a red laser-pointer at a cat, and watching them go nuts chasing it. That is all.
FCC director Brendan Carr likewise has threatened action, but he has not movd to actually do anything.
And I LOVE how you had over the last 16 years, and have now, no reaction to what Obama and Biden did over their 16 years to the media (and I say 16, because that "resistance" and obstructing Trump continued throughout his first term.)
I have yet to see you EVER critticize the Democrats in your 15-plus years on these boards. But you never miss an opportunity to attack Trump and/or Republicans in office for far less.
As I said, the Democrats, repeatedly over 16 years have tried to shut down all conservative broaadcast media, Fox News, One America News, and Newsmax, and came damn close to doing it. Plus arrestign reporters, and ev en telling liberaal media wha they could and could not report, or be denied Whie House access, or greater threats. Even into Trump's second 3 years, OAN remains pretty much shut down and marginalized, no cable carriers, just a subscriber service. Up till 2022, OAN was growing in influence and viewership.
You have nothing to say about Obama being the ONLY president in recent times to arrest reporters or shut down media sources. In the last 100 years or so, you have to go back to Woodrow Wilson or FDR to see another president who did that.
Butt hey, when Barack Obama or Biden shut down networks as "not a real news channel", or spy on journalists, or arrest them, NO PROBLEM.
But if Trump even head-fakes in that direction, it's a great crisis for you, and look out, the Democrats might do it back if / when they get back in power., a "blowback"
Well, newsflash, Iggy : The Democrats have been weaponizing government and intimidating if not shutting down the media for at least the last 16 years.
I don't know that Trump has anything crazy planned for reigning in the media. But it would be hard for him to surpass what Obama and Biden have done over the last 16 years.
I sttill don't think what Trump's doing exceeds aiming a red laser pointer at a kitty, and watching him go wild.
