Officials briefed Justice Department leadership about it in the early days of Trump’s presidency as part of their ongoing efforts to vet personnel who had been appointed to senior leadership posts in his administration, the sources said.
The investigation, first reported by MSNBC and The New York Times, began in 2024 and was based out of the Western District of Texas.
Tha sounds like a Biden / Merrick Garland DOJ trying to set up and smear a Trump official, right BEFORE the Trump administration was even inaugurated.
And the fact that some of the most Trump-unfriendly media were the ones immediately informed by FBI, is reminiscent of the Democrat-weaponized FBI and DOJ calling CNN and other far-left media to be right there on hand for the show-arrests of Paul Manafort, Michael Cohen, Roger Stone and Peter Navarro.
Roger Stone in particular had home security video cameras, and they recorded that CNN's camera crew arrived exactly 18 minutes before FBI pounded on Stone's door to arrest him. That Roger Stone describes as "the shortest stakeout in media history"
OBVIOUSLY indiividuals in FBI called and informed CNN to be there for Stone's arrest, in a partisan-motivated arrest, and made sure CNN was there to give it maximum coverage and scandal for Trump's firs-term administration, as were the other arrests.
Roger Stone said his own lawyer's discovery investigation showed that arrest, with 29 heavily armed FBI agents, and 2 frogmen who swam up in Roger Stone's waterfront back yard, cost 1.1 million dollars. They knew in advance that Roger Stone was absolutely no threat, and FBI could have just phoned him and told him to be in FBI's local office with an attorney at an appointed time, at ZERO taxpayer cost. But the
97% Democrat-donating FBI wanted a televised show arrest, for purely political reasons.
Which is precisely why FBI did a corruption sting on Tom Homan. Not to find anything Homan actually did wrong, but to set him up, to SMEAR him, and by extension to smear Trump. As a corrupt FBI has attempted over and over to Trump in the last 10 years. And it's telling that this sting was unleashed at the very end of 2024, by a Biden / Merrick Garland controlled FBI. Because it was one last dirty trick to smear Trump, before the Democrats lost control of the White House and the DOJ / FBI. That's all this is.
..., in a statement to ABC News, FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed the probe and said it "was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing."
"The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed," Patel and Blanche said in their statement to ABC News.
White House deputy press secretary Abigail Jackson criticized the probe as a "blatantly political investigation, which found no evidence of illegal activity, [and] is yet another example of how the Biden Department of Justice was using its resources to target President Trump’s allies rather than investigate real criminals and the millions of illegal aliens who flooded our country."
Jackson further said Homan has not been involved in any decisions by the White House to award government contracts.
"He is a career law enforcement officer and lifelong public servant who is doing a phenomenal job on behalf of President Trump and the country," Jackson added.
The ABC article (which is still Trump-hating liberal media, despite the facts they selectively include) neglects to say that Tom Homan is a lifelong law enforcement officer, and served in border enforcement under 6 presidents, that he has proven to be hell-bent on securing the border, and that is precisely why Trump appointed him. That Homan had a good-paying private business that he left to come back as border czar, that he DIDN'T NEED a $50,000 bribe at the time the sting was offered to him, and doesn't need it now. That he endures more death threats than anyone else in the Trump administration, and he could easily go back to a better-paying and less risky job if money was his motivation.
AND that the FBI and DOJ setting him up, and the liberal media reporting it, are among those who would most like to see him removed, by any vicious scheme they can manufacture.
Kash Patel , Todd Blanche, and an army of DOJ lawyers investigating the case say there is "no credible evidence" for the Homan investigation. And that's good enough for me.
