monday, july 26th - 2:00 pm
monday put me back at work. but that was completely fine, cuz i was still riding high from the weekend.
so high, in fact, that i was somewhat smooth during my office roaming. not so smooth as "still drunken rob," i dont think, but i had something goin on. enough to feel the confidence kick, which is a wonderfully lil diddy that courses through the soul.
anyway, for the most part, it was a regular day in a regular week. we worked. we lunched. we got ready to go home.
but on this particular way home, in the 11 flood elevator run, somethin strange would happen.
jon and i were waitin for the magical, vertically movin booth to arrive... when denitze comes around the corner, to join in the waiting.
now, our office is delightfully filled with many, many attractive girls, but denitze is sorta the untouchable one. ...mostly cuz she just doesn't talk to anyone. or seem to like anyone. ... like me.
granted, i don't talk to anyone, either. i mean, i want to, but... i'm just a sad, sad little cretin. ...whatever.
lemme tell my story, damnit!
anyway, she seems to be in a good mood, and i'm still flyin high, so we start talking a little. just normal stuff. you know, there's not all that much the three of us can discuss while waiting for and riding an elevator.
regardless, the conversations go well, and we hit the ground floor, ready to leave... we say "see ya" and she responds "nice to meet you!"
...
which would be great... if i hadn't already worked there for 5 months, and talked to her several times.
even worse for jon, who's worked there 2+ years.
more times than not, that sorta slap woulda stuck with me for awhile, but i pretty much started laughing instantly when she said it.
its a sad recap of "rob: the adventure"
