"the defining characteristic of the RKMB boards since they began". Most of us initially came here because we were temporarily or permanently banned from the DC message boards, in the period circa 2000-2003.
So if Trump's purpose with that post was to get under the skin of the Nobel Prize committee, under that of the Norwegian government, or just to piss off his U.S. political opposition, and Lefist opposition to him worldwide in general, I'd say... mission accomplished.
( I don't know for certain the Norwegian government actually influences who is selected for the Nobel prize, or if Trump just assumes that. But I would presume that through government funding ties, or other outside influence, or just shared Leftist ideology and Trump-hate in both the Norwegian government AND on the Nobel Prize committee of academics, the Norwegian government
does have some influence over who is selected each year, though maybe not as complete control as Trump states in his quoted social media post.)
And I think outside of Leftist academia, and outside the Democrat base in the U.S., it is generally acknowledged worldwide and across the world media that Trump resolved and brought peace and ended 8 wars in 8 regions worldwide, some of them cumulatively resulting in slaughter of hundreds of thousands or even millions over decades, with no end in sight.
Till Trump intervened.
And that since the thing is called
the Nobel PEACE Prize, that Trump is infinitely worthy of that Nobel award, perhaps more than anyone in any year previously awarded in over 120 years.
But because the academics who award the prize ideologically despise Trump, it was pre-ordained that they would never give the award to Trump and honor him with the recognition he deserves.
And, yes, I know, that idea is SO WRONG AND CRAZY THAT... the person that Nobel prize was actually awarded to instead in 2025, Corina Machado... GAVE the Nobel prize to Trump, and said that while it was awarded to her, Trump's remarkable accomplishments demonstrate he was the one truly deserving of that year's Nobel prize.
There is also a bit of politics and irony in the Nobel Peace Prize since its creation, since it was created by Alfred Nobel, the guy who invented dynamite and profited off of wars and bloodshed for most of his life. And created the various annual Nobel prizes as a way to redeem his image and legacy, after and beyond his war profiteering.
