It looks like a war zone.
But then... Mexico has been a war zone with a high ratio of murders, and drug cartels running wild, for at least 20 years.
3 Mexican federal agents were killed in the raid to get "el Mencho", and also 3 SWAT team members.
And since then, at least 70 more people nationwide in Mexico have also been killed, both local police and civilians, either deliberately targeted or caught in the crossfire, as El Mencho's cartel make reprisals, and all the cartels fight each other to take over El Mencho's trafficking empire .
From what I understand, the reason Mexico did this raid was because Trump made it clear that if Mexico did not take "El Mencho" down (the primary trafficker of Fentanyl into the United Sates) that the U.S. would go into Mexico and do it themselves. And hopefully this is the beginning of shutting down all the cartels in Mexico, with sustained raids on El Mencho's successor, and on all the other cartels. This one cartel alone has trafficking operations in 48 nations, and is essentially a global multinational corporation.
These cartels also partner with hostile foreign nations and terror groups, such as Venezuela, China, Iran, ISIS and Al Qaida. Shutting them down and slashing their profits diminishes the power and global reach of all these other hostile groups worldwide.
