Courtlist
[ M E M, you might have explained that this is the U.S. Attorney's written legal case for prosecution of Boetler, but I figured that out. --WB]

“ His internet and text-message history also showed a focus on the balance of power
between the political parties in the Minnesota and elsewhere where power was closely
divided. (Id. ¶¶ 26, 27.) He texted his friends articles about the Republican U.S. House
majority being “in Danger,” commenting that “Democrats steal enough elections to tip the
balance of power.” He expressed concern to a friend that in the Wisconsin legislature,
Democrats “may shift 4 house seats to Democrats.” He complained to the same friend that
in Minnesota “one party through questionable elections holds the house, senate, and
Governor’s seat to have total control and make any laws they want.” He repeatedly
searched for information about the narrowly divided Minnesota Legislature:
• “how many members are there from each party ion Minnesota House
of Representatives,”
• “make up of the Minnesota Senate,”
[ page 14 of case document ]

CASE 0:25-cr-00272-JRT-DJF Doc. 57 Filed 07/21/26 Page 15 of 31
• “Current makeup of the hpouse of representatives,”
• “how many frim each party in the mn senate,” and
• “ratio of republicans to democrats in the MN house.”
Then, at 3:42 p.m., less than 11 hours before Boelter arrived at the Hoffmans’ door,
Boelter sent his family a long, rambling text message about politics. He expressed concern
for “large protests planned for this Saturday all across the U.S.
” by those opposed to the
president. He asked his family to “pray[] that something takes the wind out of these protest
sails.” He complained about Democrats and the opponents of the president regarding the
conflict with Iran, the war in Ukraine, theft of government funds, immigration policy,
judicial integrity, and election integrity. (See id. ¶ 26.)”

So WB you can keep trying to deceive but it’s apparent that Vance wasn’t a democrat. He was a hyper partisan republican that saw his fellow countrymen as enemies to Trump and justified killing to try to tip the balance of power to republicans in Minnesota.

I'm not being a weasel. A year ago when this topic began, I posted two articles (above) that said there were a stack of flyers for the "No Kings" rally (or for several rallies) in Minnesota cities, in the shooter's car.

These articles also quoted the shooter, Vance Luther Boelter, saying he was instructed to do the killings by governor Tim Walz himself, in a scheme to eliminate Walz's poliical opposittion, and in the case of Senator Amy Klobuchar, to allow Walz to run for a deceased Klobuchar's vacated Senate seat.

The fact that Vance Boelter had been appointed for many years to a Wisconsin state advisory committee, during part of that term, by Walz himself...

Quote
In 2016, he was appointed to the Governor's Workforce Development Board, a nonpartisan 60-member unpaid advisory board, by then-Governor of Minnesota Mark Dayton. Governor Tim Walz reappointed him to a four-year term in 2019 .

... in the opening days and weeks after Boetler's murders and attempted murders of Minnesota legislative officials, this all initially gave an air of credibility to the allegation of Walz's involvement, and an appearance that Walz and Boetler knew each other.
But what investigators have found since, while Walz did appoint Boetler for his 2nd 2019-2023 period in that advisory board position, it's possible that Walz just re-appointed Boelter on someone else's recommendation, and that the two of them (Walz and Boetler) never actually met.

The "No Kings" rally fliers in his car also gave a further appearance of Boetler having another layer of connection to the Democrat side, and credibility to the allegations.

But as the U.S. Attorney's case that you linked explains, and Wikipedia explains, while it looked like Boelter was a Democrat official (he was not) , and it looked like he had a connection and motive orchestrated by Walz (he did not). And based on those data-points, he appeared to also support Democrats further, promoting with flyers and attending a "No Kings" rally (he did not).
In the weeks and months after the shootings, this was still an open question.

It was only after the police and U.S. Attorney's investigation, that at some point it became clear these were deliberate misdirection laid out for police by Vance Boelter. that despite his Governor's Workforce Development Board advisory position, appointed BY GOVERNOR WALZ HIMSELF, Boetler was not a Democrat, and not close to or in a conspiracy with Tim Walz regarding the shootings.
Despite appearances, that was all a frame job by Boetler.

Boetler's personal story (detaile by Wikipedia) is both complex, interesting, and creepy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vance_Boelter

A married and educated man with multiple degrees, who apparently over time had multiple homes and other properties, apparently wealthy at one time, and at the end unemployed and running out of cash. Multiple businesses, some of them imaginary fronts, perhaps just to feed a fantasy in his own head,
Christian missionary work he dabbled in across a few towns in Democratic Republic of Congo, and in the West Bank and Gaza, and locally with African immigrants in Minnesota, managing security companies (some imaginary), managing food canneries and manufacturing.
Then leaving that to manage... a gas station?
A convenience store?
Then re-training in recent years to work at a mortuary and embalm dead people?
Then finally running out of money.

With the pastor of his church speculating that Boelter, with his life falling apart, decided to "go out with a bang" wtih the shootings, in some desperate grasp for purpose. Insane, and yet simultaneously calculated in the shootings and his preparation for them, before, during, and after. In an escape and police manhunt across multiple cities, homes, rental properties, storage bays, and when arrested, hidden crawling across a field of tall grass.

So... yeah. While the facts when this began made it look like Vance Boetler was a Democrat, a year later it's clear he was a Republican/conservative (though not with an agenda any other conservatives would support or agree with), and he was deliberately misdirecting to make it LOOK like he was a Democrat, and involved in a conspiracy with Walz. That investigators proved was a deliberate deception by Boelter.
Facts that were not fully investigated or tested a year ago, when I posted those first two articles.
