The court’s had to intervene on behalf of the press with Trump. They didn’t have to with Obama. And Trump resisted the courts on this. CNN is actually probably going to have to go back to the court again as they are still being barred! During the Biden administration there was an effort to get networks to be more factual instead of intentionally running news that they knew to be false. The 2020 election for example had some lawsuits by voting machine makers that revealed that conservative networks knew a lot of Trump’s claims were lies but ran with them to please their conservative audiences. And the networks paid big sums to settle.
None of that changes the fact that Trump did not permanently ban CNN or Poliico, or that Trump never intended to, just that he pushed it to the courts to make it as difficult as possible for CNN and Politico. Again, to emphasize in the media for a prolonged period that those two news organizations are low both in journalistic integrity, and in ratings.
I never saw ANY evidence that Fox, Newsmax or OAN were false in their reporting. Every network makes occasional errors in fac and publicly makes retractions.
That said, the only incident where I think that is even in question for Fox, OAN and Newsmax, is reporting on the 2020 rigged election for Joe Biden, in specifically naming Dominion voting systems as the way the election was rigged. I think it definitely WAS a rigged election, but anchors at Fox, Newsmax, OAN and their guests such as Sydney Powell made statements as facts that were not absolutely proven.
The election ABSOLUTELY WAS rigged, but it could not BE PROVEN to be rigged.
And so those networks were sued.
But in many other ways, as I've detailed, there is proof that the 2020 Biden election was rigged, in particular Elon Musk's released Twitter files, and the conspiracy by FBI, CIA and social media giants like Facebook and Twitter to suppress and censor reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop using the bogus label of "Russian disinformation", to win the 2020 election. Plus millions of fake mail-in ballots, and U S Postal employees who tesified to a truckload of fake ballots, and USPS managers who ordered employees to turn in expire ballots, so they could be manually be backdated by managers and illegally counted in the election. Among many other forms of mass cheating.
Many legal experts have said that Fox News could have won the Dominion lawsuit case, it they had pushed it to the wall and fought it all he way o the end. But that Fox settled, so Dominion's lawyers could not obtain internal communications from Fox in discovery documents. They were willing to settle for $900 million with Dominion, rather than reveal their internal communications. And as Fox News was worth $20 billion at the time, $900 million was less than 5% of Fox's total assets.

Nicholas Sandmann sued for statements made about him by multiple major networks, that were absolutely untrue.
Yet you still regard those lying liberal media networks as respectable journalists, while regarding Fox, OAN and Newsmax as forever tainted and disreputable, when they chose to settle with Dominion, despite a lot more supporting facts on their side to back what they reported.
