I have ummm... a friend who used to like, use Napster and Audiogalaxy. Now, my friend stopped because he umm... thought he had all the songs he needed. Turns out he is missing some.

Now, I know none of you visit any sites or download music from the internet illegally, because hey, we are all law-abiding citizens here, right?

Still, to help my friend, I was wondering if you have heard from any of your um... friends about alternate places to download music.

So far, my friend has heard about Kazaa, but He is hoping there might be some others. Just curious. Wanting to help out a buddy, you know how it is... [um.... uh huh! ... ]

Yes, well, I also have this... friend... who downloads so many files illegally he's running out of hard drive space as he types this [izzat so?] .

Anywho, he does use Kazaa a lot for older albums and songs he hopes one soul out there will have, but my friend find IRC downright superior in every other way. You can download entire albums in one shot, you're almost guaranteed its music/movie/etc. it says it is, the quality is always CD-level, and more. There, now I've advertised.

(For those who don't follow, IRC is Internet Relay Chat, a form of chatroom chat that predates AOL and is, in many ways, superior (plus it's free). In these chatrooms are 'bots' similar to those that defoul AIM and Y! Chat. However, these bots are helpful since they advertise illegal downloads available to those signed into that particular server.)

Recently, in this forum, I believe, I asked everyone how they felt about Bottler, which makes it MUCH easier to find and download programs from IRC. The problem is that Bottler makes it so that EVERYONE can use IRC, ripping away IRC's exclusivity. I don't think anyone gave a real answer tho.

If you want to know more about IRC, I spoke of it in length in that thread. I'll be more than happy to go into it in detail again if you feel it may benefit you, though.

Do a web search for "Kazaalite". It uses the network that Kazaa does, but it doesn't have any of that dirty, dirty spyware/adware.

My friend thanks your friends for their assistance. I told him I disapprove of his actions, but well, you know. He thinks he will go with winmx.

He still had shit in his computer from downloading Kazaa. Trying to find a way to delete it all.
