We reinvented the Circus!

You know, I was sitting up tonight doing the usual stuff I always do on Sunday Nights: Channel surf, Internet, listen to the kids scream at each other, Play some spades, listen to more screaming before the house gets blessedly quiet because the little brats have fallen into a drug induced sleep, (Thank You Nitequil!) followed by more channel surfing and guess what I came across?

A Cirque du Soleil Marathon!

I know, my first though was “ewwwww…how lame!” I thought it was the gayest, (No offense to the Gays!) thing I had ever seen, but then I remembered the first time I saw the Cirque du Soleil perform. It was at the 2000 Grammies and they was doing a skit from their Journey of Man show and I can remember thinking I have never seen anything so…impressive, in my life. It was that stray thought that had me giving the Marathon another chance.

Granted, most of you guys here probably never heard of Cirque du Soleil, or don’t want to hear of it now, but I’m the type of person that like to acknowledge awesome things and Cirque du Soleil is the most awesome thing since the Big Top Tent.

Just what the fuck is Cirque du Soleil?

What is it? Cirque du Soleil is somewhat complicated to describe. Basically, just think of it as the Circus. That is if the Circus was done in French and had the most kick ass performers, costumes, and talent on the planet. It’s defiantly the Circus of the new Millennium.

Created in the 80’s, Cirque du Soleil is a phenomenon and rightly so. The Circus is huge consisting of more then 250 performers, (huge for a circus) and thousands of fans all around the world. I mean, what isn’t to love? While Cirque du Soleil isn’t traditional of the Circus you and I love, it do have all the things you find in the same circus, but with way more cooler everything!

There is a Ringleader, Trapeze Swingers , Strong men, Animal Tamers, and a ton of other shit that I would be hard pressed to try and explain properly. Hell, even the clowns are cool and they’re usually the lamest part of the show. And then there’s the Music. Tacky horn and xylophone notes? Forget about it! Not at the Cirque du Soleil! It was the music in relation to each act that truly sold me to the whole experience. Each song, (sung by this wonderful group of women and men in French.) complemented the scene being acted out. The songs in themselves told the whole story of Cirque du Soleil. Inventive, Power, Humor, Drama, Romance, Energy: Cirque du Soleil.

If I were you, I’d give it a chance before discounting it out of hand.

Try it before all you ghetto folks die of lack of culture!

I went to see this last year. Its awesome. Aside from having a small lesbian fantasy about the two female contortionists, I was impressed with these people's skill. They're all so strong, so fit, have an extraordinary sense of balance.....

I don't know about you guys, but I don't think Rex should be a mod much longer...
I mean, he abuses his power, and, generally speaking, he's just a hypocritical whiny bitch who has something against just about everybody. Do we really need that in a powerful position?
