I still don't quite see what you find lame about Hawkman - or more to the point - what you define "lame"- to maybe further discern why you consider WhoreSquawk err.. sorry WarHawk - a "facelift", and not a 2D image rekit with shoulderpads. Much respect for Messrs. Timm & Dini - love their work, but really - does Batman need a facelift? Did you like Azrael Batman Rob? How About Electric Superman. Timm & Dini do their best work distilling a character to their pure essence, focusing on their classic qualities and showing how timeless those are. They sort of skipped that with Hawkman. Hawkman's creative roots are in mythology (like WWoman), unlike Batman(mystery) and Superman(scifi)(both of which Dini & Timm exploit to great effect in their stories) and Goyer & Robinson have done a great job of reinvigorating a character that sort of lost it's way in the race to be relevant in the late 80's.
Why am I bothering - Rob doesn't REALLY like any characters except for Uncle Batman.
