Why not Spider-Man? He's noble, and he's no stranger to sacrifice, and when the chips are down, he doesn't quit (I'm specifically thinking of that one story from the 60's or 70's where this building collapses and he's holding it up for people to get clear, all the while having this nifty little inner monologue.)
Others? Captain Marvel (the REAL one), Barry Allen, maybe one or two more.
Superman? No. He did lift it during Avengers/ JLA, but Thor said that was Odin bending the rules a tad.
