The Jerry Orday Captain Marvel. They took all the fun out of the characters, and none of them were very likeable. Someone once said that the Marvel family should inhabit a separate dimension, since they'd be redundant in world with Superman and Wonder Woman, and the more I think about it, the more I like the idea.

Storm beating Wonder Woman during "DC vs. Marvel." Yeah, right, and I'm Laetitia Casta's love toy.

The art didn't help any. Well Grummett left and that other guy (Jaaska?) took over, it just looked awful.

Yeah. If Grummett had stayed the comic would have been much better.

Yes, but when he draws people, they at least look like people.

Adapting the Catwoman movie into a comic book. Wasn't the movie bad enough???

Gotta wonder how many of those Halle Berry Catwoman statues DC got stuck with......

I once met a guy who claimed he could have bagged Laetitia Casta, but at the time she was underage.

The thing that really killed Titans though was the Baxter format. They decided to make Titans a premium format book, and take it off news-stands. Dumb. Suddenly it was expensive and you had to go looking for it in comic shops.

That and the art looked like crap on that white paper. Newsprint somehow looked better IMO.

Hate to agree with Kampy but if the Bat-movies continued the successes of the first two (argue if you want that they werent good, they did well at the box office and werent camp). Continued success may have encouraged Warners to put otu other DC films and maybe beating Marvel to the punch. You cant argue Marvel's movie success has had a positive impact on the comic scene.

Hell, even Clooney was quoted as saying that he killed the franchise.

I personally like the Ordway "Shazam!".

To ask the question:

Every time you had to buy several titles to get a story (cross-overs).

Furry comics.

You can argue all you want about this or that being the worst. I'll say hands down that the new X-FORCE mini is the worst book in ten years. Perhaps ever. It looks bad. It reads bad. It f'ing sucks!!!! I figured I'd follow it because I love to watch a good train wreck. It's so bad I had to stop after the second issue. At the bottom of the 1st cover it reads "The Legend Returns". Ummmmmmm, okay. This crap is sooooooo bad I feel sorry for Liefeld. Does he ever look at other comics? Can't he see how bad he sucks? Hell, I'll write X-Force. It's gotta be real hard work to suck that bad. OUCH!

There's no real reason the Marvel fam should inhabit a separate universe. They already have their own city. They can simply have minimal contact with the rest of the DC universe.

Bringing back a dead character from a forgotten story from 20+ years earlier, to not only replace the character the fans were familiar with, but to render said familiar character a "phony" Spidey, was really that bad an idea.

I think a lot of us were mentioning just shitty comics and not shitting ideas - Mr Velo, nails the point I was trying to get across!

I would also like to add, the Death Hal Jordan. Not Hal becoming Parallax but the idea that they would kill him instead of running with the ball, having given new life to a character that has been boring as fuck since Crisis, they decide to kill him.

Its a bit longer than 10 years ago, but with the benefit of hindsight, Crisis on Infinite Earths was a huge fuck up.

You know, I would list both of these as some of the best ideas in comics in the last decade.

Was Dark Knight Returns a bad idea, despite being a gret story?

The ambience of DKR spawned Cable, Spawn, Deadpool, most of the bile from Image, and pretty much ruined comics for kids since 1987.

No, DKR was not a bad idea. Letting creators ripping it and Watchmen off was a bad idea.
