i dont think one had anything to do with the other. in fact, im almost certain they didnt.

the talk of her wanted to make nightwing gay (or at least explore the idea) was abolutely nothing more than talk, if for any reason because DC would never allow it (they're tremendously protective of batman and robin, and all those misplaced innuendos).

further, i think the whole notion was really blown outta proportion. all she really said is that she would like to toy with the idea, and explore the sexuality of a character, like nightwing, who was very well known and mainstream and a ladies man and mid 20s (etc). even if she had full permission, i dont think there was any real intention (or agenda) to produce the story.
