I mean, just what the fuck is up with the Comic Companies?

I haven't brought a comicbook since Titan's 19 because of lovable hacks like Devin Grayson and Jay Faeber ruining the book I collected for 20 years and felt the only thing I could do was boycott. Seeing the latest madness DC has in store for Titans, I'm now convinced I made the right call. So I moved on to bigger and better things--or so I thought. But one thing had convinced me to come back to the fold of stupidity and give DC another chance, but that was before I read this!

Comic Shop News #805 features a cover story on the upcoming Robotech comics with an in-depth interview with co-writer Jay Faerber!

I can honestly say that a cold shock went through my body and my mouth fell open. I couldn't believe it! Jay Faeber writing for my beloved Robotech?!? Granted, even he can't fuck up a story set in continuum....wait a minute...that's exactlly what he did to Titans! I guess that proved my point. Not even a Anime Series such as Robotech is safe from his butchering. Hell, maybe I'm wrong--maybe even Jay can watch a series and then write it exactly as it happnes!!

*snapping fingers*

That's right. He don't read other writers/authors work! It falls in the catagory of "research" and that's something that could never be laid at his door. Maybe I'm not giving him enough, or I'm giving him too much credit--either way, its back to the boycotting.

Its a shame really. I really wanted this comic. For once in Robotech's long comic history, the artwork is aswesome, but I swore I'd never buy another thing with his, (or his friend Devin) name on and I'll keep that promise.

Shifting back to the subject of trainwrecked franchises, do you think Geoff Johns can salvage the Teen Titans?

WHAT THE HELL IS DC THINKING?!? JUDD WINNICK GETS TO OFFER UP HIS PORTRAYAL OF NIGHTWING?
Hearing the GL fans gripe about what he did to Kyle was bad enough, but now I hear he's gonna write the Outsiders? Isn't DC paying attention? KYLE'S BEEN WRITTEN OUT OF HIS OWN BOOK! Granted, it's a mixed blessing b/c Kyle's departure means John Stewart is now the star, but the last time I remember a character being bumped to background status in their own title was when Superman was a lifeless body. I am more than a little uneasy about this. There's just this sinking feeling I have that he's gonna try and make Nightwing gay...Which reminds me of another gripe: DEVIN GRAYSON WRITING NIGHTWING! Her work on Gotham Knights was good, but seeing what she did on Titans... Forget Titans for now, let's talk about a recent interview I read. In it:
1) She implies the long-standing rumor/joke that refuses to go away; that is, Bruce and Dick are gay. Not in those exact words, per se. She said that "soulmates...complete each other" and she sees Bruce as Dick's soulmate. For that reason...
2) She refuses to accept Barbara as Dick's GF. Personally, there are only two women I can picture Dick having a relationship with, and if he can't be with Kory, then he should be with Babs.
Okay, I'm spent for the moment. Kori, I'm sorry about being so blindly optimistic about Teen Titans. I'm gonna go check the value on Tales of the Teen Titans #44 (NW's 1st appearance) now.
