Yeah it's a list. But this a list by me. Anyway, I do want to hear what you all think are the best as well. You can give your reasons why you like them, whatever. You can disagree..I wanna see some good discussion. Because comics are cool. I also want to trim up my list and maybe add a couple I haven't tried or have been unwilling to try to replace them. Here we go...
10. Ultimate Spider-Man 9. JLA 8. Tom Strong: Terrific Tales 7. Promethea 6. Oh My Goddess! 5. JSA 4. Detective Comics 3. Age of Bronze 2. Catwoman 1. The Flash
I'd add Hellboy, Bone and Leave It To Chance if they came out a little more often. Other Books like Powers, Batman, Gotham Central and Batman Adventures were close to the list but hey..there's only so much room. I left off edge and forge as well as that would be cheating...... Okay, I haven't read that many, so here goes...
4. JLA 3. Ultimate Spiderman 2. JSA 1. Hawkman
I'm going to start reading JLAdventures too, I think. I'm thinking it will be the new #3.

this month's top, in order:
10) batgirl 9) gotham knights 8) jsa 7) green arrow 6) jla 5) catwoman 4) gotham adventures 3) gotham central 2) detective 1) batman
obviously im skewed in a batman-direction.
green arrow is a weird choice, as thats never a book id have guessed id be into one day. the same could be said of jsa. or even jla (i never much cared for the "second stringers").
for a long while, detective was at the top of the heap, because rucka's stories were frickin fantastic. he's still my favorite regular writer on a batbook. martinborough's pencil's and the unique coloring style were equally cool.
currently, batman has taken sole control of the top. most importantly are lee's pencils -- i've never seen batman look so cool. batman, alfred, catwoman, etc -- i've never seen any of them look so cool. he's simply a masterful artist and really has a great handle on the book.
just opening the title is cool, from lee's crisp art, to the smooth colors, to the slick, shiny paper that comics all but forgot about a few years ago.
above and beyond it all is one of the industry's top writers, determined to get me to stick around. batman's interactions with catwoman, alone, have been phenomenal.
great book.

Do you mean current like 'new' or current like 'favs at this time'? 'Cause I'll go with option two. 1. Batgirl Year OneI like Babs' character and never read anything with her as Batgirl. New and fun. Hurrah. 2. The Grant/Breyfogle run on BatmanNothin's better. Especially not this Leob/Lee crap I signed on to. 3. Johnny the Homicidal ManiacI'm constantly re-reading these. I love what a little Spud God is. 4. It's Science with Dr.RadiumHave you ever read this stuff? Funny as all get out! Greatist "science" book ever! For the first seven issues, at least. It's cool though. That's all I ended up buying anyways. 5. Roman Dirge's StuffI don't own any, but hell. That is one fucked up little girl. Good stuff. Loving the 'little ballerina' comic. 6. Non SequiturOk, so it's a newspaper strip. I'm po'. This is great. 7. Get FuzzyAgain, in the paper. Dirby Connelly(sp) is great though. Plus he does tributes. I didn't find out Douglas Adams was dead until I saw his 'obituary' in Get Fuzzy. Plus Satchel is the sweetest thing... That's it though. Others are good but I don't read them enough to have them classify. Or I read them every month but am sorely dissappointed <*cough*HUSH*cough*>.

In no specific order, these are the books that I'm picking up regularly now:
1. The Punisher - Ennis has really brought this character to life. Each issue is a joy to read.
2. The Flash - Johns is doing some really good stuff here.
3. Hawkman
4. JSA - Both of the last titles have had their ups and downs, but they're still good books.
5. Batman - I'm picking this one up more for the Jim Lee art. Loeb is not one of my favorite writers at all, but even he can pleasantly surprise me from time to time. At the same time he does a lot of little shit that adds up to pissing me off. (Fucking Krypto!)
6. Daredevil - Wasn't really that interested in him before, but Bendis has done some great development as of late.
7. Captain Marvel - Peter David is let lose to do whatever he wants and delivers with a great story about insanity and power. Probably one of the best books out right now.
8. Rawhide Kid - Picked it up as an impulse buy and have been enjoying it since. It's only about three issues out now, but it's funny shit.
That's about it for now. I'm trying not to spend too much of my paycheck at the comic shop. When the Lobo mini comes out this summer with Giffen back on it, I'll more than likely pick that up too.

1. JLA Ever since Morrie's run I've loved this book. Kelly's stuff is pretty good.
2. New X-Men Only Morrie could bring me back to X-Men.
3. X-Statix/X-Force When I start reading a book that was once soiled by Liefeld's presence... Great media satire. Can't believe Milligan and Allred got away with it.
4. Battle of the Planets Not only is it a revitalization of an old TV show, it's slightly more adult than the original (and the original was pretty adult for the time period).
5. The Flash Zum!
6. Liberty Meadows Frank Cho = good.
7. Batman I enjoy Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee very much.
8. Avengers Oliver Coipiel's art is very nice... Johns' writing is good as well.
9. The Ultimates Millar writes nice mass destruction. Hitch draws nice mass destruction.
10. Daredevil Enjoying it since Mack's Run... back when this was the only good Marvel book.

1. Y-The Last Man Still the best book out there. After a brief stagnation, it's picked back up again. Fantastic last two issues.
2. X-Statix Also starting to regain it's steam. I liked the last issue.
3. The Crossovers A good Crossgen book. This is no longer an oxymoron. I hope more will give this a chance.
4. Fantastic Four: Unstable Molecules Along with Vertigo Pop: London, the best mini series to come out in years.
5. New X-Men Morrison seems to only show up when Quietly's on board. That doesn't bode well for the book's future, as last issue was Quietly's finale.
6. League of Extraordinary Gentleman Alan Moore goodness.
7. Promethea Ditto.
8. Tom Strong Ditto. On those rare occasions when it comes out.
9. Catwoman One of the only good DCU books left.
10. Fantastic Four Good fun.
I also recently tried and liked Bendis's Daredevil in trades.

I don't even know if I read 10 books... I would read a lot more, but the lack of... ahem.... money limits me.
8. Batman: Gotham Knights 7. Star Wars: Empire 6. Green Arrow 5. Star Wars: Republic 4. Detective Comics 3. Batman 2. Gotham Central 1. The Power Company
I'm pretty much ready to stop readiing Knights, I stopped collecting Batgirl when the old team left, and I just started Action Comics. I'll be getting Green Lantern issues that tie in with Green Arrow, and I am collecting the Star Wars: JEDI one-shots as well.

This is tough: 10. Ultimates-great read and great art. 9. Avengers-loved'm back in the '70's and still do. I just wish George Perez was still on this title. 8. JSA-I'm new to this title and the new story looks really cool thus far (I know it's just one issue in). 7. New X-Men-story and art are both very good. 6. Amazing Spiderman-I'm new to this title as well. It seems like a fun read. And that is what I wanted. 5. Storm Watch-any comic that has characters using the "F" bomb is good enough for me. Not to mention it's mindles violence. 4.Batman-did someone mention Jim Lee? Also, Jeph Loeb isn't hurting this title either. 3. JLA-I started with the "Obsidian Age" story (#69). I think this is a great team book. I've picked up a lot of the TPB's. I'd kill to see Howard Porter doing the art again. 2. X-Treme X-Men-I think this title is fantastic! Move over Prof. X Storm is in the house!!! NUFF SAID! 1. Detective Comics-I wanted to go with Play Boy at #1 but there just wasn't enough comic stuff in it. By the way Torrie Wilson from the WWE looks really hot in this months issue. Okay, why Detective Comics is at the top of my list? Simple. This title does Batman the best. The art may not be Jim Lee but it still works very well. The writting, in my opinion, is the best out of all the books I read. If you want to know Batman, buy this book.

1. Lucifer. Epic writing from Mike Carey: a more Machiavellian version of Sandman.
2. Promethea. Having just bought the second and third tpb, I can honestly say this is one of the most clever things I have ever read.
3. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. A great read, and a unique concept. Too bad the movie will probably suck.
4. Preacher. Oh, its finished. I'm still going through the tpbs though.
5. Planetary. When it comes out.
6. Black Panther. Some exceptional plotting and characterisation.
7. Queen and Country. Just got the third trade. When did Tara get tits and look like a supermodel? Still, its gritty hard-edged English espionage at its finest.
That's it, I'm afraid. Why I Hate Saturn shows a lot of promise, but I haven't finished it yet.
