I have to admit I prefer the idea of clones to the idea of numerous survivors of planet which had a population of super-powered individuals. Besides, this new Supergirl clone is cute and kind of looks like what I imagine Superman's daughter would look like.
Thinking about it, it doesn't make sense that Kryptonians didn't colonise though. They had a huge competitive advantage.
