Comics are from the imagination. So I imagine
my OWN comics. I have 40 characters. I put them
in stories of my own, either when I cannot sleep,
or at the dentists, or when unpleasant thoughts
overtake me. I would not want to try doing it
for a living, THAT good I ain't..But it beats
mourning the loss of a special character that you've
gotten to know care about.

Under Clairmount, Illyana was special.I miss her.

I brought Back those from the 60's. Prince Planet.
The heroes from Space stars - Kid Comet, Elektra
and Moleculad.

Used to actually draw the adventures but that got
tedious.

That way, they sometimes come back. And it's
like in a Way, I never lost em.





Kill off and use improperly in the case of colossus.

I miss that character. In fact I quit reading X-Men because of it. Never got past Issue 2 of Ult X-Men because of it.

In fact I also quit reading the Superman reboot at issue 23. Funny that was right after i got pissed that Supergirl was a mass of protoplasmic goo....

And after Quesada was cool online on some of my ranting Newsarama past a couple years back I said I'd give Marvel another try..then Jemas slammed one of my posts and belittled me and I swore I'd never buy a Marvel book until that idiot was gone..Now he's gone, but no Marvel books really interest me as the damage has been done..I guess I'll wait until it's undone.

Comics is a unique medium. Where people attempt to update a tried and true formula that works..that just needs new angles and a new coat of paint. look at James Bond ..it still works and it's the same formula ...with a new coat of paint.

Much like Supergirl works as it wa soriginally intended..as a concept. When it strays from the roiginal it doesn't work. If you made James Bond and American CIA agent it wouldn't work. People expect James Bond to be in the British MI6. If you take the concept from the core of what it is..you alienate people. Some people will like it , but generally speaking most will scoff at it.

Much like Supergirl. If you want to kill her..fine. But don't bring in something absolutely different from the original to just use the brand name..people get pissed and won't accept it...

New Coke comes to mind.....although MOTA may have liked New Coke because all along he just wanted a Pepsi and wanted to dillute Classic Coke for everyone else just because he liked New Coke. Funny, they don't make New Coke anymore.
