Well, I finally managed to get through to him after several hours of being put off by one of his lackeys.
The situation is this:
Magneto is concerned that you don't appreciate his iconic status and isn't sure that he'd do well as a character under your captainship, his temporary deceased status notwithstanding, and was actually quite incensed at your specific rationale for keeping his bidding price that low, but I've advised him to accept the offer as it's the only one on the table. I also pointed out that he was your very first bid and therefore much more prominent in your mind than he'd assumed. Magneto reluctantly accepted your bid unless a better one is offered in the next 24 hours from now, though he would have much more peace of mind if you had more Homo Superior (IE: mutants) on your team. He doesn't want to be a "Token Mutie"...
