That's what art is for. For an artist to express what they believe and feel. To leave your political or social leanings out of your script is missing the point of becoming a writer.
And for the reader, even if you disagree with the beliefs in the story, you can still enjoy the read. If only to have something to disagree with. Or make you think.
There's a big difference between a story with a moral/meaning and flat-out preaching. Judd preaches and a lot of his dialogue is pretty cheasy. He writes sex and banter, that's about it.
