If it's the former, none, because there are enough sequels in the world already and most of the time they're terrible. If it's the latter, none, because a true "stand alone" film shouldn't have a sequel, it would just ruin the point of it.

" That was a Fantastic movie, WAY ahead of it's time. Anyway, Klaatu never DID come back to find out what our answer to his offer was, of joining the galactic federation of Peaceful planets or facing obliteration. Being obliterated does not sound like very much fun.

Granted, I totally understand why they shouldn't be done, but those are two movies that, when I was a child, left me hoping for more.

Speilberg even admitted up front that he went for more action and less plot. He was listening to the advice of 8 year-old kids for Gob's sake.

No matter how bad he may suck now, Corey Feldman was pretty fucking cool in Goonies, Stand By Me, and The Lost Boys. So much so that they wouldn't be the same without him. But if I could make a sequel to Goonies, I'd HAVE to use ALL of the original cast. None of them have died, have they? I know Ma Fratelli's dead... I mean, how the hell did Chunk's middle-class suburban American Jewish family adjust to living with a 7'9" 280 lb. monster freak? God... If only they'd let ME do the sequel... Sigh... I feel the same way with the Lost Boys. So much potential there... Especially now, with the current state of SFX. Same can be said for TRON. I would take a movie that many people criticize or don't like (something people aren't going to be too pissed off about if I f' with it), and turn them into something completely bizarre. Like, I would do a sequel to Yentl, only Streisand's character turns into Rambo. Or I would take Steel Magnolias and have Julia Roberts' character brought back to life by the government as a cyborg killing machine, and Sally Field and Dolly Parton have to destroy her in order to save everyone.
