It's well-known that I think Triad deserves a shot, but who else might be interesting?

Since you already suggested Triad - I'd add Chameleon as a candidate too. I don't think he ever has been leader - or has he? So he was a little off-base dealing with Sneckie last ish, he seems otherwise to be people-oriented (unlike Brainiac 5) and as one of the original members (post-boot) has a good deal of experience.

I think Colossal Boy/Leviathon should come back, and be Leader.

I know he had the job once before and quit, but if he came back, maybe he'd have a different outlook. It could go like THIS :

" Colossal Boy/Leviathon! You're back?? We thought you were dead!", Asks a surprised Saturn Girl.

" I was, but I got better. What's for lunch? Being dead can SURE make a Guy hungry! " Gim asked.

" Gim, we just happen to have a LARGE selection of Hostess fruit pies and snacks on Hand! We can have a WELCOME BACK GIM party! " Cosmic Boy announces, getting out the pies and snack cakes.

Oh Boy! There's a big delight in every bite! " Gim says, chomping down on a Hostess Twinkie.

" Gim! You're Back! Great! And I'm back to normal!
No more being a giant girl for THIS Shrinking Violet!! " Says Violet, as she shrinks to tiny size.

" I vote we make Gim Legion leader, because he's such a Swell guy! " Brainiac 5 declares happily, showing emotion for about 4.3 seconds.

It's Unanamous! Gim is Leader! Shortly after that, the Wonder Twins, Zann & Jayna apply for LSH membersip. They are accepted. Lucky for THEM, Brainiac 5 and the others took a Brush up course on tact. At the same time, Calamity King , who has now learned to control and focus his awesome power, re applies and is also accepted.

" Thanks, Guys! At long last! I'm in the Legion! " Calamity King told them, happily.

Moral of the Story: Being Dead is boring. Don't reject LSH applicants in a Mean way or they Join the LSV and ruin your day.

And Eat Hostess fruit pies! They're Yum - a - Licious!!!

Well I wanna see Cosmic Boy back in the seat for a little while again myself.

But for somebody new...I'd go with Star Boy. The only sub-plots they seem to have for him anymore is "What's wrong with Star Boy's powers?" So I'd like to see how he handles being leader.

Plus he's my favorite legionnaire...so I admit I am just a little biased.

I'd have to go with Triad. While she has never been a favorite of my, especially post-boot, she has shown she has what it takes. But I'd accept just about anyone but Kid Q. She gets my vote for least favorite leader.

I will agree with you One hundred and damn ten precent there Lightning Lad. When it comes down to it. I'll really accent anybody except Kid Quantum. Well...unless they tried to resurrect Monstress and make her leader. To me, that's about the only worse possibility. And it's not really "worse" per say...just equilly as bad.

TRIAD is absolutely my first choice.

Who has already had the job postboot...?

COSMIC BOY, LEVIATHAN, SHRINKING VIOLET, SATURN GIRL, KID QUANTUM... did I forget anyone?

I'm finding it LESS EASY to remember past leaders postboot than it was pre. I wonder why?

But other than TRIAD, It might be a nice bit of nostalgia to see WILDFIRE at the helm... or UMBRA when she returns...

I think we still need to see JAZMIN running the show for a while !!

hopefully she'll play a part during 'Dream Crime' !!??

i think PRE-BOOT 'Dream Girl' was my favourite leader !!

I totally agree about Triad being leader material, I would also like to see Dreamer at the helm again though I guess they'll have to make her an official legionaire first.

Though I wouldn't necessarily want to see her win, I'd like to see Ayla campaign for the position.

She may have seen KidQ's point about remaining Spark, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't feel like fulfilling the leadership roll she never saw Garth grow into. (She was in the 20th C during his first short stint as leader-- and, of course, wasn't among the Lost.)

A campaigning Gates would be loads of fun, too.

But as actual leader? Hmmm.

Right now, I'll have to say Triad.

Star Boy would be an interesting choice -- particularly if he won by default. ("The old Kallor luck, again.") Being leader would force him to stop being a screw-up and take himself more seriously, I suppose.

My off-the-wall choice, however, would be ... Apparition. She's been through a lot this past year (Legion time) and still has unresolved marital issues. But I think she can do it. She managed to hide from her mother (the second most powerful person in the UP at the time), win over an ally (Timber Wolf) and give birth while her life was being threatened. If she can do that, she can do anything.

Besides, she's probably inherited some of her mother's statesmanship (though, one hopes, none of her ruthlessness).

I want to see Lyle as leader, with Brainy as his deputy... but just so they can have all of those "behind closed doors" cuddles. Errr... I mean HUDDLES

I'd also have to throw my vote for Invisible Kid. Triad would be second choice. Rokk third.

And I don't really need for there to be reader-elected leaders -- I'd rather the creative team think up the storylines (are we even sure that they really went along with what the readers voted or could it all have been a big publicity sham?).

I would to see Rokk as leader again, mostly because he might get some face time. In an ideal world, however, someone would write personality traits for him other than "ideal leader."

I think Dreamer or Invisible Kid as leader would be great. And I've wanted to see more of Karate Kid ever since his reintroduction, so I think a surprise electon result naming him as new leader would be great, too (kinda a la Dream Girl the first time around).

As for Kid Q, I haven't disliked her as leader, but it sure seemed like she was getting a lot of face time over other legionnaires even before becoming leader, and becoming leader only exacerbated that. But I generally like her.

And I think that (at least the illusion of) reader-elected leaders is a must, even if the results are manipulated to faciliate writers' plans. It could prove to be a fertile breeding ground for young legion fans, whom we need to replace us when we die.

My choice for Legion leader? Yep you guessed it....FRANK STALLONE!!!!

I'd like to see Lyle take over again. He kinda got shortchanged the last time. Not only did they have him resign the post early, but thanks to Team 20, he never got to lead the entire team.

I'd love to see Kid Q run the show for a while. She's doing a great job, and she handles it well. Plus, with her being a front line power girl, it lets Triad get some air time as deputy, which is where she really shines. Jaz has only had the job for a year right? Let her strut; girl has earned it.

It's gotta be Lyle again - give the poor guy something to do other than being Brainiac Spare or Sarcasm Lad.

And like A Jar of Cardinals commented, Lyle didn't even get to lead the entire Legion last time - let's give the guy a real shot.

Alternatively, put Dream Girl in as leader, and have Lyle head up a new & improved Espionage Squad, complete with a mini-series or back-up stories in the main title.

Lyle as leader of Espionage Squad - YES!! But weren't they calling it the Subversive Squad or something - sort of a play on "Subs"? I like Espionage better.
