I think it's important to remember that many of the posters here have become friends over the years. As such, there is a level of comfortability (is that even a word?) that encourages us to speak candidly and to joke around, even though sometimes others don't necessarily understand the humor (at least not at first).
We laugh, we joke, we flirt, and all of which we do without regard to sexuality. Straight people flirt with gay people... gay people joke with straight people... really no harm is intended or, I think, done.
Keep in mind too that this board is new to many of us, and perhaps the lack of rules has encouraged us to be a little less... restrictive... than we might normally be elsewhere. I think that will change a tiny bit as the newness wears off a bit.
And lastly, take a look around at some of the posts on the rest of Rob's boards. Gay talk (much of it meant to be harmless slams against people, I think) was a way of life around these parts long before we came along. And even more bizarre is the fact that I almost think we're the
tame ones around here
