Los Angeles, and after two years, it's starting to feel like home. Going backward before that: Des Moines (4 years), Chicago (14), Des Moines again (2), Chicago again (Northwestern University, 4), and growing up in Des Moines.

That last city is the capital of Iowa, by the way, west of Illinois (where Chicago is). I know YOU intelligent folk here all know this, but you'd be surprised at the number of supposed "elite" students at Northwestern who had no idea where the peaceful place was that I grew up in.

For the sake of countering the stupid French-bashing these days, I give the interesting origin of city and river "duh MOYN," pronounced like (Obligatory Legion Reference here!) Jeff Moy.

"Originally, the river was named after an Indian tribe that lived there, the Moingouena. The French, who liked to abbreviate words, called it riviere des Moings. It later became riviere des Moines through folk etymology." -- From a link at Northern Illinois University
