As much as I hate to admit it...

No...I take that back. She's a woman. A girl would never find the courage to be as honest and straightforward as she's been. (That's in addition to being intelligent, determined, and everything else she is.)

Getting back to the story...somebody gimme a springboard here. I've got ideas, I just need a way to make 'em fit.
