"I can't believe them," Ktl said to himself, as Tobias, Kristogar and Danny walked towards the crypt. "I just can't believe them."
"Are you coming, Mxy?" Tobias said, looking back at Ktl.
"Be right there, honey!" Ktl said with a sweet voice. "Damned fools..."
As they descended to the crypt, Danny seemed uneasy. Kristogar, carrying a lantern to light the way, noticed this.
"Are you sure we're handling the Mxy situation correctly...?" Kristogar asked, making sure "Mxy" wasn't listening.
"What else could we do?" Danny asked in a low voice. "If it wasn't him... He would have alredy blown our heads."
"If it's him and not something else, then why do you suppouse there's darkness coming from his eyes instead of light?"
"He's just playing us, KV..."
"Exactly," Kristogar muttered, "he's playing with us..."
Danny opened his mouth to say something, when he heard a loud sound coming from behind. He looked back and noticed that the crypt door was closed.
"What the...?" TC said.
Danny didn't remember opening a door on his way in... But that wasn't important now. He looked at "Mxy".
"Did you do that... Mxy...?" Danny asked, impatient.
"Did I?" he replied with a grin.
"Cut the crap," KV said, looking as pissed as he could look.
"All right, if you insist!" Ktl started elevating as he said this.
Ktl stared at Danny, that was standing next to a statue. Danny stared back at Ktl, confused. Ktl closed both eyes for a second, and there was a loud explosion.
"DANNY!" Kristogar yell.
After hearing the explosion, the next thing Danny saw was the floor.
<AAAH!> Hal screamed inside Danny's head, <He sliced our head off! We're just a head lying on the floor!>
"We're still alive, Hal..." Danny said.
<These are our last seconds of counciousness before dying, Dan! Before dying I've got something to tell you, Dan... I-->
"If we're just a head lying on the floor, then how come my ribs hurt so much, Hal?"
"<...>"
As Danny started getting up, he realized that TC was standing next to him, looking at 'Mxy'. "Sorry if I pushed you too hard, Danny, I forgot about your ribs," TC said, without letting down his guard.
Danny saw the statue he was standing next to, and noticed that it was decapitated. The pieces of rock that had been it's head were all over the crypt. Danny realized that if it wasn't for TC, that would have been his head.
"Eh, no problem, Tobias..."
Now there was no doubt in KV, TC and Danny's mind that this was Ktl floating in front of them.
"Whoops, sorry about that, Dennis!" Ktl said as he started floating around the three men in circles, increasing his speed as he went. "Let me make it up to you. You said before that the book was top priotity, right? I'm gonna make the search for the book a lot easier!"
Danny couldn't wonder what he meant for more than two seconds, when things around him started exploding.
"I'm clearing the way for you to look!" Ktl exclaimed. He was having fun with this, and the rest could tell it. All this time posing as Mxy taught him a new kind of insanity. He remembered the days when he wouldn't even smile, and thought of all the fun he had been missing.
"How did we ever beat this guy?" Danny said, as he and the others dodged flying pieces of debris.
