As I said elsewhere, I think each mission the team goes on should have a leader, and I think each member of the team should take their turns leading, even the ones whose leadership skills aren't all that obvious.
I remember as a teenager being part of an Outdoor Education Club through my high school, in which we would go on week-long trips to the mountains and hike and such. For a few hours at a time, each of us was "the leader" during the hikes. The leader would decide the pace we would go at (I always seemed to take a pace a bit too fast for everyone's liking), and where to go, and where to stop for lunch, et cetera, and since he or she was the recognized leader everyone followed him or her. I think something similar could definitely work for our MBL when on their missions. After all, some missions will require skills, abilities or powers which one or more of the members may possess, which would make them the natural leader for that mission.
For example, if the mission required battle against a group of terrorists who had commandeered a small village and had a lot of firepower, then Dirk Bell would probably be the best one to lead that mission.
If the mission was more mystical in nature, then Mxy, Grimm or Turkish would be the more natural leader. And so on...
