Yeah, the LOTR movie was better than HP, that is a movie for children, after all.
But as a movie adaptation, I think it worked better.
LOTR, for me (FOR ME), although it only failed in the little thing mentioned by Chewy, that I agree in an adaptation could be gone without harming the story, it laked in atmosphere.
I mean, it looked plasticky.
The County looked like Teletubbies land, instead of moorland they travel always among luscious forests, and Lorien is a straight copy of the Ewoks planet.
I know that is not important for many of you, but for me that stealed what intrigued me most reading the book(s).
