No objections whatsoever.

So.... anyone read my "Monkey's Paw" story yet? I'm needing some instant gratification for my writing quick... [sad]

TTT, what's especially fun, for my point of view, is to finally see what I waited for, at the time of the story, maybe a full week!

Luckily I didn't wait till you posted!

IMO, I don't like the idea of months passing while the heroes have been fighting. Not only does this really hurt the direction I was going with Sam (Michelle, the vamps) but I don't think it makes much sence with what happened in the story. In the story it was set that the heroes were in a dream like state in the Mountains, with real police, people and the kid team watching and wondering what was up. Now, if months have passed. That is really weird with not only the public watching, but with our characters just standing there. No food. No water. No bathroom breaks.

I really think we should have them return only a few hours after they left. In their dream states, hours and even days passed for them. I think it would have a greater effect if these "dreams" only happened in an hour or two as opposed to the [hours, days] they felt passing in the dream world.

Also if a few months passed, Euro and Turner would what be waiting for the team for weeks/months? Hell at that point maybe Walker and the EPS have taken over the world.

Why do we need to match present day/time? This Universe is not our world. Their time can be different. When do we ever state months or dates anyhow (asides the x-mas/new years stories)?

DC Comics have this thing where three years is equal to three months in the heroes time (or used to at least). Yet ever year Superman would still have x-mas stories/specials. If this all was looked at by a time nut, than in the DC Universe, X-Mas is held ever three months. I always enjoyed those stories and didn't mind that DC's time was a little "messed" up.

I think we should have the heroes return the same night that the fight began. Just my opinion though.

[mwah hwah haa] Exactly... [mwah hwah haa]

Seriously, though. I think Gooz brings a very valid point. All of TTT and T5's posts regarding Biggles and the Psi-Unit in "real time" have been set corresponding to the events in the story. Three or four months later, they're still there? I don't think so.

Plus, like Gooz, I too am working on a subplot. It could be dealt with "three months later", but I'd prefer not.

That's my nickel's worth, so I'll let you chew on that a bit...

I dunno. I like the idea of keeping the stories in "real time," and it's what we've been doing since they first began. The first story was in September 2001, the story introducing Pete took place specifically in January 2002, and so on.

Now, I'm not saying that we should specifically reference the date all the time, but I DON'T think that every single story needs to happen RIGHT AFTER the last one completed! After all, in real life "true adventures" only happen once in a while, and almost never all at once. I certainly don't think each story should begin directly on the heels of the last one.

The progression of time is something I find very interesting in the New Universe. Why should we do things the way DC Comics does?

I was not saying that we should do things the way DC Comics does things, I was just saying that we don't have to follow "normal" real time.

And if we do advance time by such a length, than I think we should all agree on it ahead of time (so we can work our sub-plots accordingly).

The team's job is adventures. And as seen in the last few stories, the team has more than enough jobs to keep them busy day after day for some time.

I agree, not every story should begin right after the last. But this next story is a big turning point (and less of an adventure per-say). The team needs to heal, interact, react to Pete's sudden change, Nic's disappearence, the three (maybe four with T5's new character) recuits, the teams injuries, Sam's mental state, only to name a few.

Yes, I do think some times it is good to advance time, but right now I think its a bad time to.

I'm not sure about the title, though. It could be kind of limiting. Something similar but not so time-definite would be good.

Okay, I'm going to give you guys until tomorrow morning to add whatever you want, and then I'm ending the story. Cause somebody has to. I'm eager to get on with the next one, really.

How about simply "Time Off."? "One Sunny Day . . ." is a little too derivative sounding of another "One Sunny Day. . ." story. [yuh huh]

btw, TTT, nice interview link.

Dunno if anyone's noticed (or cares), but I've made a style change or two... I've switched to past tense when I'm writing in the third person, as opposed to present tense, but I'm still writing present tense when I'm in the first person...

...um... that kinda made sense.

I really don't think we should stress too much about the timeframe issue. There's no harm in saying that time passed the same inside the castle as outside. In fact, it's probably simpler. We don't want to get a reputation as anal-retentive comic book superhero geeks.

...I mean, moreso than now...

And, just to jump on the bandwagon... Mxy, you rock. Your latest posts have been great.

About the timeframe, although I suggested the solution of the two different timeframe, I am more for the No reference to time as suggested by Gooz, and at which I inted in my last post.

But that must not means that time is not passing, like in the DC Universe. A story can last an hour, and the next happen the next day, but after one year in OUR universe, more or less a year has passed in the HR Universe.

At last, that's exactly what I will do with the Snake son of Euro. I want to see he growing and learning to do things. :)

Dan, I hadn't meant to imply that Kristofer and Danny hadn't met before when Tobias and Larry were possessed -- just that Danny hadn't actually been introduced to him. :)

The Ma Kalunga thing was weird, yeah, but not my fault. T5 resurrected her in time for his climactic "Evil" post. All I did was take care o' business...

One thing that's weird is that nobody's wondering where Pete or Naecken is as they're all leaving the Castle... unless it was explained to them "off-panel" or something.

Mxy explaned what happened to Naecken to a few members. Plus everyone is in so much physical and mental pain, I bet they all even remember where they are.

Plus as seen in one of the other stories, this isn't the first time that the team has forgotton about Pete (Mick, Larry and Sam went on the mission while Pete was in the rest room :-p ).

Hey, I sent everyone a little "quiz" (a 2nd one) at the e-mail addresses you have listed here (or ones that I already know about). Except for Gooz. Everytime I try and send anything to Gooz03@aol.com, it comes back to me. Any thoughts on this Gooz?

This Quiz-Your-Friends.com rocks. You all should try it sometime. :)
