AKA The New Talk Thread For the New Story! Now as for the OLD story -- which needs to be opened up again -- I still have one post left to make. Chewy, read the messages, dude. You're not scoring any brownie points by constantly locking up every bloody thread when it doesn't need to be locked up yet... [ 07-09-2002, 01:59 PM: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

I was away for the weekend. And the Pete/Chance post was easy to write, but the one with Griffin will be a little more difficult. That's why I asked that the thread NOT be locked up until I had a chance to get that last post in. Since it doesn't conflict in ANY way with the story that's been started, I do not see what the problem is with keeping it open until EVERYONE -- not just Chewy and his EPS -- has had a chance to finish what they need to finish there. Sorry if I sound a little bit mad, but I am a bit irritated, especially when I made this all clear on no less than two occasions. It seems like Chewy's either not reading or disregarding my posts. Makes me wonder why.

Hmmm... this right after you ignored my last post. Tisk Tisk Tisk
Anyhow, I'll quote it over here for you... quote: Danny and TTT, Would you guys be able to do a quick edit of ur posts and make the drunk "Sam" into Larry or Mick?
A few posts earlier, Sam left the party with Jamie to, well, you know
Here is the part of the earlier post... quote: Sam was happy, his party was going great. He was also a little drunk, but that didn’t matter. Not anymore. Time had changed him. For the better? Maybe.
A hand grabbed his arm and spun him around, before he saw who it was, his lips were met by another’s. After a few moments, he opened his eyes, in front of him was Jamie, the girl from earlier today.
“Come hun, time to show you a real party!” She pulled him through the stair case and began kissing him fiercely. As the doors closed, the elevator beeped and opened. Michelle walked out, a saddened look on her face.
See, he has been too, "busy" to chat with you guys.
Oh, and I opened the thread up for ya. Let's all hope that this isn't all leading up to the appearence of the Dark Chewy!!! ![[mwah hwah haa]](graemlins/devil.gif)

BOW BEFORE THE UNBRIDLED MIGHT OF THE EVIL WALRUS!!!! YOUR MEMBERS ARE WEAK AND CANNOT CONTAIN THE WRATH THAT IS ME!!! Okay, enough of that... Anyhow, quote: Originally posted by TTT: Chewy, read the messages, dude. You're not scoring any brownie points by constantly locking up every bloody thread when it doesn't need to be locked up yet...
quote: Another angry rant from our very own TTT: Since it doesn't conflict in ANY way with the story that's been started, I do not see what the problem is with keeping it open until EVERYONE -- not just Chewy and his EPS -- has had a chance to finish what they need to finish there. Easy, killer! I was off the Internet for a few hours! Simmer!
It appears that Gooz has opened the thread back up for you, so, hopefully you're not so cranky. As to my "not reading/disregarding" your posts, I merely thought that the Pete/Chance post was the "one last post" you needed to make to the story. A mistake. My bad. I apologize. Please accept this meager offering of type-written words as a token of my goodwill.
Now, if no one objects, I've closed out the last talk thread (I'm assuming that's okay since everyone seems to be having fun on this one already). Any objections, just hound a moderator or beg Rob to let you be one...

Actually, Gooz, I was planning on changing it right away, but it's impossible to edit anything in a closed thread unless one has moderating powers.
I've changed "Sam" into "Larry" now, though. Lance makes a good drunk... ![[nyah hah]](images/icons/tongue.gif) [ 07-09-2002, 10:26 PM: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

T5, I didn't start the new story because TTT and KV said they had to post things in the old one... Please keep the old thread open until tommorrow, I have to post a short epilogue in it... (I don't have time to it right now, literally).
I will post the bit that was suppoused to be the first post in the new story soon after I post the epilogue in the old story. It will be a little confusing (since it was suppoused to be first, so it takes place before was has alredy happened in the new story), but I can't just forget about it, because Chewy, Euro and T5 collaborated with me to do it.

Cool. Now could you or someone else with moderating powers delete the non-story posts in my "The Monkey's Paw" story, please? I'd prefer the chat posts to take place anywhere but in the story posts themselves, and I plan on adding more to the story soon... [ 07-10-2002, 12:22 AM: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

Thanks, Chewster. I'm done with issue #7, although I think Kristogar and Mxy both said they'd like to add something else to the story before it's locked up.
And, hey, could someone post an updated MBL ROLL CALL at the beginning of the current story? It's really helpful for remembering everyone who's in the group, especially now that it's getting bigger. [ 07-10-2002, 07:26 AM: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

BTW, Pro -- Sorry, I know you said you didn't want anyone except those you handpicked to write Turkish, but I couldn't resist using Stringfellow in my epilogue-like post featuring Griffin. Hope it's all right, or at least not TOO out of character... ![[nyah hah]](images/icons/tongue.gif)

No, no, no. You completely misunderstood. I was going out-of-town for a few days, and, as such, wouldn't be able to post in the story. I "gave" rights to write Turkish to Grimm and thedoctor, because they knew enough about the character, from personal chats, to do so for the rest of the story, or, until I got back into town.
But, I've been back for almost two weeks, now. ANYone can write Turkish, as he is part of this fan-fic. :)
As for your post, I'm about to go read it. But, you've always proven that you can write my characters just fine. So, who's worried? :)

OK, I posted my epilogue on the old story... It's not important for the new story, but it's REALLY important to Mick/Mxy's own story, so please take a look... Now we only need the post KV had reserved and we're done with #7...

Important: I need for you guys to NOT write anything where Kit meets Grimm. You can have the others mention Grimm to him, but do not have them meet. I'm working their meeting out in my head and will post it where I can find a good place in the story. Thanks.

That might be a bit problematical, unless it's a flashback scene, since by this time Grimm's been presumably living at the apartment building for a month since the Tiatucurá incident.
ACTUALLY, though, if you'd like to write the first meeting between Grimm and Kit taking place in the present, just explain that Kit's been away on business for most of the last month and hasn't yet met Grimm. Kit probably hasn't met that Dirk feller yet, either... [ 07-10-2002, 09:02 PM: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

Okay, I've edited Kit's conversation with Pete slightly, to now read: quote: Oh... uh... oh, I'm doing just fine, Pete. Just fine. Been really busy, though. As you know, I've had meetings with potential clients and investors all month, with more to come; I haven't even met your new recruits yet.

Just posted in the last story, I didn't want to post this until the current story, but with the all a sudden one month gap I had to just throw it into the mix.
All will be explained with the MBL not yet knowing about Euro and Turner in the Euro solo threat (which takes place in the one month gap).

The way I'm seeing it in my head is that Grimm has probably spent most of the time off on his own, either in an abandoned part of the apartment or exploring. And he's probably only recently begun to associate with the others a bit. I wanted to do an interview style post, probably could've done it in flashback, but I felt it might take away from the meeting a bit. I dunno.
Could somebody repost the layout for the apartment building? I can't seem to find it.

Nice post, Gooz!
One thing to note: North Vancouver is actually fairly warm, as it is close to the sea. There's a LOT of rain, causing very mild temperatures all year round (snow is rare and doesn't last, except higher up the local ski mountains), and summer is warm and often humid.
Does Eurostar's post in the Eurostar solo story take place before or after yours? If Eurostar's post takes place afterwards and is supposed to be near Quantos' house, then perhaps Quantos allowed Walker and Cicciotto to use his cabin in the interior, a few miles away from the city, so the two could heal from their wounds in peace. A minor point, I guess, but I intended for Quantos' home to be in a townhouse complex for singles -- it would make sense that he'd have a log cabin in the interior whenever he wanted to get away for a vacation, and I'm sure he'd rather deal with two powerful individuals in a secluded place rather than at his home for fear of losing his lease... :) [ 07-11-2002, 02:27 AM: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

TTT, I was referring exactly to Quantos log cabin. I don't know if you ever referred to it in the new Universe, but I remeber it from the old one, so I presumed he had one also here. In the mind of Italians, Canada is only great forest with small and big lakes, so I can only imagine Quantos in a place like that. I KNOW that thera are farm areas and big cities, but for the purpose of the story, just like you pointed out, a secluded place worked better. I imagine, like Gooz said, that he was there for the week end, or for fishing ( I don't know if Quantos fishes (fishes? Is this English?) but he should do. I think it suits him perfect, for an hobby, to stay away from the computers and the laboratory for some time). The post takes place "three or four weeks ago" respect the current story. I have explained in my last post why he has not alerted the MBL. The explanation could work or not, but was the best I coud think about... ![[um.... uh huh! ... ]](graemlins/umuhhuh001.gif)
