Truthfully, I haven't quite gotten a feel for my character to the point where he "writes himself," yet, but he's your basic former homeless man who has no worries whatsoever. He's had this charitable streak lately, which has me worried, but I guess that can be written off as Kristofer Schanz's influence.

He's loved by dogs of all kinds, as he's seen as one of them.

He speaks in a strange Newfoundland dialect, but most people just try to fudge it. I explain this by saying that he speaks "Newfie" more when he's drunk, and speaks in a variety of slang the rest of the time due to his world-travels (he's slept on the streets of virtually every major city in the world).

Check out the "Hero Revolution character profiles" for more info, and make sure to check out my unfinished "The Monkey's Paw: That Lucky Bastard" story, which reprints all of Pete's earliest appearances and will expand his first days with the team, since it was never really dealt with in the stories but mostly glossed over.

Oh, and Pete sleeps in the apartment on the first floor on the floor or the couch, despite there being a bed. He also has the uncanny ability to make a thousand-dollar Armani suit look like a Salvation Army throwaway within just a few hours.

He's not really a pessimist. As I said in the character profiles thread: "Pete is, believe it or not, an optimist. Things seem to work out for him, and he's generally not the type to sit around and mope. His expectations are pretty low, though, so it's not often he gets disappointed."

As far as Pete's powers of "luck" go, he's basically similar to Gladstone, the lucky duck from those Donald Duck comics (I read 'em as a kid), and also that lucky guy from an X-Files episode. If Pete should trip and fall, usually a bus or something will go flying by unexpectedly where he would have been walking, or if he suddenly bends over to tie his shoelaces, a pie will fly over his head or something. I dunno.

I had an idea for a scene with Pete, but it's a little bit late to post it, so I'll save it for another time.

To everyone: Don't make Pete too noble. Schanz is supposed to be the noble one. Pete's just a guy who floats through life without having to work hard for anything.
