Woohoo, new story!!! Also... Apartment Complex Rundown:(much lifted from TTT's amazing post last story...) - Basement: Laundry room and run-down old gym With an old elevator to the upper levels still working.
- First floor: the Lobby, the unused landlord office, mail-room, maintenance room, and Pete's already-dingy apartment.
- Second floor: Main dining room, kitchen, and walk-in freezer unit. Formerly used for conventions, now the dining room of the Revolutionaries. There's also a game room with a TV and a whole lot of boxing and wrestling memorabilia in this place. I should call a collector and have this stuff appraised.
- Third floor: Mick, Shirley, and Larry Lance's apartments on this level. And with a few posters up and some party music playing in the background, this floor already looks like it's gonna be Fun Central.
- Fourth floor: Kristogar Velo's floor. Well, he only occupies one of the four apartments on this floor, but it's a large three bedroom one.
- Fifth floor: Sam's apartment and the apartment of Tobias Christopher, and his cat, Li'l Jo, as well as two unoccupied ones.
- Sixth floor: As yet unoccupied.
- Seventh floor: Six unoccupied apartments and Danny's Apartment 707.
- Eighth floor: Strangely enough, nobody wanted any of these seven apartments. The power's turned off, and everything appears to be spick and span. Strange creaks in the hallway, though, and it's unusually cold in here; sends chills down my spine.
- Ninth floor: As yet unoccupied. Looks to be the nicest level yet, even though the power's turned off. I'm surprised nobody took this one, although it is fairly isolated, as most of the higher level apartments are...
- Tenth floor: Naecken's apartment's on this floor.
- Eleventh floor: As yet unoccupied.
- Twelfth floor: As yet unoccupied.
- Thirteenth floor: Sonja Ljzavet's ex-apartment, now a sort of nemorial.
- Fourteen floor: No access to it as yet, as per Sam's request.
- Roof: a greenhouse up here for growing plants, and a few laundry lines.

Okay, I had Naecken (and I misspelled his name in the post) seem very cold and sterile, just like Euro said ("he seems to be lacking any personality right now"). But, before I posted, Gooz has him in bunny slippers and singing. So, if I interpreted stuff wrong, just ignore it.
BTW, if I can, Turkish is very much a "nature" kind-of guy, as you've seen. Would it be possible for him to claim an outdoor spot on the roof. See, the guy doesn't really sleep, but does alot of meditating. I know this closes in on the old "Pro's loft" from the Palace, but, in essence, it makes sense. So, yay or nay?

No, Pro, you interpreted things right. With my post, every now and than Naecken has attempted to "act" normal and usually it is a surprise or starange, as in my post. But I think both posts fit ok together, yours taking place after mine. Also, with Naecken, his personality has shifted much throughout each story (manily because of the multi personalities living within him who have merged together... Right... T5? heh)
I like the new character and sure he can have a spot on the roof. Expect a PM about how he should feel about the 14th floor if he ever "talks" to it. [ 06-06-2002, 06:12 PM: Message edited by: GoozX ]

Whole lotta posting going on here today...
...and, as usual, I missed it all...
At any rate, T5, I altered your title in order to fit the scheme of the other titles we've had so far. Hope you don't mind.
As for the "aliens," go ahead and e-mail me. My address should be on my profile. If not, I'll put it there shortly...
Pro, tell "Mala" that the Walrus sends her a rousing "Goo Goo G'joob!"

I posted a Roll Call, but if anyone with the moderating power wants to move it to the beginning of the story, that would be great. Maybe it can become a tradition (plus, it's really handy for referring back to when you can't remember how many people are on the team). Maybe the EPS should do the same.

One thing I've been thinking about as far as my character, Pete, goes: I think "Monkey's Paw" is a bit too wordy, and not really his style. From now on, it's either "Pete," "Glover," or "That Lucky Bastard." ![[Wink]](images/icons/wink.gif) (The name was influenced by one of Frank Miller's SIN CITY books.) It's okay, Chewy. I ranted. They gave me my valium. We're back to square one. I'm sure I've got another rant coming sooner or later. Stick around.
Pro, tell "Mala" that the Walrus sends her a rousing "Goo Goo G'joob!"
I will. She's working on her column right now (she's a journalist/freelance writer). Funny enough, she "knows" all of you, after watching me write with you guys for so long now. She even read all the Malvana stuff (I think it was more to see how I interpreted her, rather than an interest in the story.... ). She told me awhile back that she misses, and I quote, "....seeing what insane shit that clown-guy puts on the screen...". I think she's talking about Joker1. Ha! Basically, after writing with you guys for so long, I was thinking I might as well "reveal" her finally. Not that she doesn't know who you all are, she's just a damn private person. Anyway, I'm clearing my cookies after this session. If she sees how much I'm talking about her to "strangers" she'll have my balls as a paperweight!

Okay, I added another post. T5, I felt that Turkish would be very curious about you, just as, I would imagine you are about him. If you think you have a grip on how to write him, then continue the conversation/scene. Otherwise, I'll come along and play with it.
KV, are you out of the story, or going to "Chicago" as part of the plot?

Apologies for the abrupt(and clumsy) post regarding Kristogar's walkout. For character development purposes, I needed him in Chicago as soon as possible. My next addition(s) will be done much better, I promise.

Part of the plot. Guess he'll have to wait until he gets back to meet Turkish?
[sucking up]Btw, while I'm thinking of it, I've loved all the posts in the current story(cool title, too). I usually don't post compliments as often as I should, since I don't participate too much in the talk threads, but I've had fun writing and following all the stories thus far. Keep up the good work, everybody! [/sucking up]

I have tried to to that, TTT, but somehow, even if I had cut and pasted your list, some lines went missing in the process , so I deleted my work. I think the list can stay some post below... ![[Mad]](images/icons/mad.gif)

That's okay, Eurostar. Anyways, the best way to do it is to click the "edit" button and then copy that without editing it instead of copying the finished look. At least, that's how I do it, because I constantly forget how to do the "bullet-list." ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif)

It's exactly what I did, but the first, one of the middle ones and the last two lines were missing. The funny is that they were not really missing, since when I pushed the edit button again, they were still showing up. ![[Confused]](images/icons/confused.gif)

About listing the EPS characters, since the end of the Chicago riots will take place in the issue 6, I will wait to see any developement, then I will put up also them at the beginning of the thread.
On another subject, have you noticed that we call the heroes "Metahuman"?
Well, basically there are only three, Tobias, Lance and Shift. Kristogar is normal, Naecken is anything besides a meta, Mxy is transdimensional, Danny has been engineered and Pete drank a chemical potion.
Three to five.

I must say that I am already LOVING this story!!! Euro, TTT, I fixed the Roll Call at the beginning. It's tricky because everything needs its own line to work right and only the listed material can go between the "list" commands. Also, I love the big team and being able to write so many distinctively different personalities. Pro, great return and use of Sam ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif)

EURO: Thanks, man. But, I've only written a few characters. But, thanks anyway. GOOZ: Thanks chief. I figured Sam and Danny, being close to the same age would be the "buddies" of the group. And, since Danny is from the future, and quite a bit more techno-sophisticated, he would probably be at a loss with simpler things. That's where Sam steps in to annoy him. I'll post more later. Especially the meeting of Mick and Turkish. For now, though, Stringfellow is checking things out covertly. T5: That's EXACTLY the kind of angle I was going for with those two. Wonderful!! There should be a deep curiosity between the two; opposites, and yet, these two can probably have conversations no one else would understand, and it be as commonplace for both of them as talking about a car, or something. Good job! ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif)

I´m glad to see the energy and enthusiasm is returning to you all...the mood for this story (when we go to Tiatucurá) is similair to the old b/w movies.

Pro, I was talking on AIM with an old friend of ours from back in the DCMB/Athanon days... y'know... the one that "Mala" likes so well ![[Wink]](images/icons/wink.gif) ... and he was wanting to know if you had AIM and, if so, what your screen name was. I told him I'd ask for you, so... here I am... asking you... Uh... ...do you? quote: Originally posted by The Eurostar: About listing the EPS characters, since the end of the Chicago riots will take place in the issue 6, I will wait to see any developement, then I will put up also them at the beginning of the thread.
Hold your horses! I'm gonna go ahead and close up the last story and continue the EPS epic in the new thread. There's at least three more posts that I want to write, so it might take me a little time (I'm always saying that, I know... and I apologize). I'll see if I can't get at least ONE written tonight at some point. After I finish (to make things less confusing for everyone), I'm gonna re-post everything dealing with the 'Revolution' story in another thread... a "one-shot" type deal. So everything's concise and laid out in one simple format.
Is everyone happy now?
T5... I've not yet received an e-mail from you regarding the subject which you wanted to discuss. Hook me up soon, a'ight?
I'm tired from work... but I can't go to sleep. Story of my life...

DAMN! I am losing my touch, aren't I? See, I can never tell when Chewy's being sarcastic, or not. The real "Mala" and the real "Mordecai" never got along very well. She's waaaay too mature, and he's, well sometimes, not. So, I didn't know if Chewy had made contact with the bastard in Alaska, or what. In the literal sense, I understand that it's Joker1. And yeah, his shit always made her laugh, and go "Whatever he's on, I want alot of it!" ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif) If you notice, Malvana, the character, liked and somewhat understood Joker1, as well (SEE: the existing TOMBForever chapters). Damn. Seems it's getting close to that time where I hand over the "coat" to Gooz, and he becomes me...... And what's up with this gay -----> ![[Wink]](images/icons/wink.gif) ? It's Rob who has too much time on his hands.....

Whoa! Thanks to the rain, I had three free days, and nothing happened here. Now, the streets are all dry, so I get busy again, and that's exactly the moment you guys decide to get all excited again! (not to mention it's also the moment the NBs decided to go on a raid...). I was about to post something yesterday, but it was getting too late so I saved it to finish and post it today. I'm gonna rewrite it so it fits into the story and post it now... quote: Originally posted by Kristogar Velo: Apologies for the abrupt(and clumsy) post regarding Kristogar's walkout. TTT: Maybe Kit was out of character in my last post. If that happened, it's because I had used Krisogar to do his part originally, but now I had to re-write it to make it fit.
I'm sorry if the second part of my post is confusing... I wanted to show Euro on TV protecting people in Chicago so the guys could see him and confuse their asses off, but then Gooz reminded me that Euro is in the EPS HQ right now. Then we started talking and I ended up showing Turner, that should be recognized by the group once they get a clearer image of him.

So, it seems I start writing, and everyone else backs off. Dammit, where is everyone? Anyway, I've taken up a chunk of the first page to familiarize myself with this new team, and for you guys (and the characters) to understand Turkish. I tried to wrap it up as quickly as possible, since I feel that T5 wants to get down to Uraguay quickly. As for your characters, this is how I've grasped themso far: --Sam and Danny are the "friends". The buddies. They have alot in common, and even more so not. Thus, a great chemistry between them, as their polar-opposite behaviors bounce off each other. Danny's got book-smarts, while Sam's got common sense. --If Sam and Danny are the compadres, then Mick and Larry are something near Booster Gold (Larry) and Blue Beetle (Mick). Or, maybe, Hawkeye (Mick) and Trapper John (Larry) from M.A.S.H. That's how I see them, so far. Notice I have yet to mess with the Mxy part, though. I'll do that when I feel I've got it. (BTW, I felt that Turkish would at least "see" a double-exposure to Mick's "aura".) --I haven't messed with Pete yet, since TTT hasn't written anything for me to see how he acts. Is he the pessimist and Schanz (?) the optimist of this composite? Anyway, I'll let TTT write something before Turkish has any interaction with him. Or, TTT could do the interaction. --Kit Piper is Maxwell Lord, and we all know it. --Shirley's the "mother" of the bunch. The "Black Canary" to this "JLI" team. But, she IS dating/having-sex-with Mick, right? --Naecken is exactly like T5 wrote he and Turkish together. Lots of fun here. -"T5" a mechanical dog? Is this a companion for Tobias' "Lil' Jo"? Hmmmmm. Either way, no offense, I think I'll be letting others take care of those two. Sorry, but I have nothing for "pets", other than they are there. Anyway, hope I've got everything as close as possible. GOOZ: Was Turkish's "interaction" with the building appropriate?

Truthfully, I haven't quite gotten a feel for my character to the point where he "writes himself," yet, but he's your basic former homeless man who has no worries whatsoever. He's had this charitable streak lately, which has me worried, but I guess that can be written off as Kristofer Schanz's influence.
He's loved by dogs of all kinds, as he's seen as one of them.
He speaks in a strange Newfoundland dialect, but most people just try to fudge it. I explain this by saying that he speaks "Newfie" more when he's drunk, and speaks in a variety of slang the rest of the time due to his world-travels (he's slept on the streets of virtually every major city in the world).
Check out the "Hero Revolution character profiles" for more info, and make sure to check out my unfinished "The Monkey's Paw: That Lucky Bastard" story, which reprints all of Pete's earliest appearances and will expand his first days with the team, since it was never really dealt with in the stories but mostly glossed over.
Oh, and Pete sleeps in the apartment on the first floor on the floor or the couch, despite there being a bed. He also has the uncanny ability to make a thousand-dollar Armani suit look like a Salvation Army throwaway within just a few hours.
He's not really a pessimist. As I said in the character profiles thread: "Pete is, believe it or not, an optimist. Things seem to work out for him, and he's generally not the type to sit around and mope. His expectations are pretty low, though, so it's not often he gets disappointed."
As far as Pete's powers of "luck" go, he's basically similar to Gladstone, the lucky duck from those Donald Duck comics (I read 'em as a kid), and also that lucky guy from an X-Files episode. If Pete should trip and fall, usually a bus or something will go flying by unexpectedly where he would have been walking, or if he suddenly bends over to tie his shoelaces, a pie will fly over his head or something. I dunno.
I had an idea for a scene with Pete, but it's a little bit late to post it, so I'll save it for another time.
To everyone: Don't make Pete too noble. Schanz is supposed to be the noble one. Pete's just a guy who floats through life without having to work hard for anything.
