It's a Morrison revamp. Back to the basic five members, with some young faces to replace old, missing original members.

I think it's no spoiler to reveal that the return of Chewy will be the resolution of the crossover...

Yeah. If you didn't know that by now, then you haven't been paying attention. However, I'm really excited about how Pro's gonna do it. He hasn't even told me, so I know it's gonna be cool...

I have no idea. In his last post on the talk thread, he said he was gonna e-mail me, but I haven't heard anything from him.

I don't know how often I can be around right now. I've got family and friends in both NY ad DC. I've only heard from DC, so far. And I'm fucking scared, guys. I'm fucking scared.

For various reasons, I'm not going to be around. I may return eventually, but I'm not sure at this point. I guess DRAX and Tommy can stay where they are for now and Ghaleon can get sucked back into that dimensional matrix he came in through. My thoughts and good wishes are with those with loved ones effected in Tuesday's tragic events.

I'm still alive, I just don't have computer access right now, and I'm pretty bummed out about all this stuff happening in New York. As a Canadian, I totally sympathize with my American brothers and next door neighbors. I've never been on foreign soil while in the U.S.A. But I find it sad that the borders are now tightened up to an extreme, especially since I live so close to the American border. I'm using a friend's computer right now, but I haven't been able to fix my computer nor been able to afford to have it fixed just yet. I hope to be back soon. So I-Man's still gone, huh? Hope he's all right. And I'm glad to see that DC Comics is doing all right in the midst of all this. God bless, TTT

I'd like to get involved again...someday. Right now I'm not good company for anyone. I can't even begin to count the screw-ups I've managed to cause since the terrorist attacks. It's happened on various message boards and in my so called real life. I think I need to take a break...maybe do some re-evaluating. I know a lot is because of the terrorist attacks. It's made me and others go completely crazy. It's just stupid. This is a time when our internet communities should be pulling together. Instead we're at each other's throats. It's funny I came here for solace after being gone for so long. TOMB has always been comprized of top notch posters I am proud to call friends. I guess I haven't been around because I haven't been able to get into the storylines for quite a few weeks now. I miss a few days and then I have a bunch of posts to catch up on and I'd have trouble making sense of it all. So...I just faded away. Thanks to everyone for all of the fun we've had in the past. Surely there will be good times sometime in the future. -----once over and out---------

I found my way here and it looks like it's a slow time so maybe I'll jump into the storyline.

Hey guys. Chewy, thank you for your prayers, man. As always, the Big Guy came through for me. All my family and friends have been accounted for, both, from DC and NY. Nemo, I appreciate your words of encouragement. But, let me clarify, I was "scared" that I had lost certain people close to me. As for these bastard-fucks that have caused this carnage, I quote John McCain: "May God have mercy on your souls, because we will not...". LLance, I am really glad to see you around. Hang out whenever you can. Same goes for you, Bibbo. What's up Joker1? Also, it's good to hear from Gooz. I know that this has to be alot more personal for him, than the rest of us. Let me know if there's anything I can do, Gooz. As for TOMB, and the current story. Let me be honest. I am just not prepared to continue with this 'War' storyline. It really has nothing to do with the current events traumatizing me, more, that this 'epic'-scale tale simply cannot be told in proportion, with only a couple active TOMB writers and a handfull MBL writers. Seriously. It would be, like, five of us writing the entire thing. I am prepared for other avenues, however. What if we lost this War? What if, in a couple of posts, we lost, and it marked the end for TOMB, M.A.N., and the MBL? With only these few writers active, it reminds me of the old TOMBL days. In this, I see a perfect opportunity for change. If I had my choice, I would sweep our entire writing universe under the rug, ala' CRISIS, and completely start over. I mean it. A brand new Earth. No MBL. No TOMB. No Courts of Light. No M.A.N. No history whatsoever. Just a few writers, broad imaginations, and a beginning. You could create entirely new characters, with entirely new histories. Or, if you prefer, tweak your existing character in whatever fashion you want, and re-create them in this new universe. Now, I realize that I am probably in the serious minority here. Don't misunderstand me. I love TOMB, the MBL, and our nice little universe. I love writing Pro, and I love joining in with your characters, as well. But, I'm not so blind as to not be able to recognize a stagnancy, and mega-convulated history (for those of us without the time or patience to gather it all into coherency, anyway...). So, that's my pitch. End this 'War' post-haste, and re-begin the universe. You won't hurt my feelings if this is rejected. All I'm asking is... ...think about it.

Actually, Pro, you might have something there. I had gotten a bit tired of writing Chewy before his inevitable "transformation", which is why I had plans to overhaul his character upon his return. I actually wouldn't mind doing this. However, if the majority goes along, and we do decide to do this, I have one condition and one only. You finish TOMB Forever before we start. That's all I've got. Well, there's my three cents... do with them what you will... [ 09-18-2001: Message edited by: Chewy Walrus ]

Well, that we can't go on with a long War story when there are only few of us writing, it's a fact. More over, there are at last two new persons (Dev Em and T5, and the returning Kristogar) that would join us if the story would be more simpler. So, I'm for ending the War story soon. I would glady do it, closing ALL the loose ends and coming to term with all the various profecies scattered around. AND, having a clean slab to start writing over. But first, I would hear from Gooz what does he thinks. After all, this is his story. What I'm not sure is how we should begin the new universe. In a Crisis fashion, where all that went before was still existing, minus contraddicting parts, or with a true new beginnings, I mean, before there was no TOMB, MBL and anything, the Earth was just the same as our, and now heroes are beginning to appears? I’m confortable with both the takes. But, throwing away three years of fun fiction seems a waste, and not right in respect to all the writers that have done the TOMBL Universe, and that have chosen to stop to write it, like Kathoek, Captain Carrot, Indestructible Man, Franta, Jona’s Whale, and countless others. I must admit that I’m for preserving the past. My characters are essentialy made by all the things that had to endure in the past, and throwing away the past would cancel them. For those of you that are tired of their character, just create something new. But, I totally agree on this, we have to go beyond the past, and built (built, not simply find) a new universe. So, what I’m asking to all of you, is: after the end of the War storyline, whose end I can bring in less than a week, what should we have? a) A universe where MBL and TOMB has never existed before, b) A universe where all that was in the past still exists, but Promethean City, Thunder City, Mandelovia are destroyed, there are no more a Courts of Light and a Circles of Darkness, and we concentrates on new stuff and not continually referencing to the past? A few minutes later... I'm back at my keyboard, after having ruminated my words and Pro's ones for some time. Why don't we start completely from scratch WITHOUT wiping out the past? I mean, we have Hyperboards! If we are three or four writers on the WAr story, while the others are tired and would start something new, why to wait for the end of the story? Whatever the end will be for the War storyline, we can start something new. It could be the beginning of the new universe, or just an Elseworld story without a crowd of people that don't post anymore (like the other Elseworld that we begun at Athanon). So, now I'm going to post a "New beginning". I have no absolutely idea what the story will be, no plot, nothing. Only my character. Ah, being a complete new Universe, no AAS, MBS, MBL, MLE, TOMB, Warriors and such have ever existed. Superheroes are a new thing, a thing of the 21th century. In a few day, I will also continue the WAR story. [ 09-19-2001: Message edited by: The Eurostar ]

Euro, your enthusiasm is, as always, appreciated, but I think we should hold off on any "new beginnings" until we've (1.) finished the "old endings" and (2.) gotten more than three peoples reactions. There's still a great deal of posters that haven't been around lately, like I-Man and Bibbo, and still others that need to show up and vote, like TTT and Avatar. I'd say hold off on anything major just yet, k?

I'm all for the reboot. Warriors continuity has become such a mess for me in the last year or so that I'd kind of like to start fresh. What does everyone else think?

It's easy to foresee that we'll be two factions, one more traditionalist, that would keep up with the old stuff (I count myself among them) and one that will be for the start from scratch that Pro talked about. In the end, whatever decision would be made, half of us would be dissatisfied, and maybe would try to take their vision in the opposite scenario. Crisis was just that: some began from scratch (Supes, Wonder Woman), others tried to kept the past intact(Infinity Inc., Titans, Legion) others changed the past but continued with the previous present (Batman, Outsiders). The result: utterly confusion. To avoid this, we could have both. In time, it will be clear what we like most, a new universe or the old one, even if simplified for the new audience. By the way, in the new story, I've just presented my character. You could see the thread as a Secret files post, and not as a story. In any case, I'm for continuing the War story and bringing it to an end. But if Pro, or LLance, or most of the others don't like it, or find it too convoluted, there is no way to have them back on it, i feel. Bibbo is not posting from weeks, Dev Em asked to join, posted twice and then disappeared, TTT was cut off the net, and I have lost any hope on I_man returning.

I think we could think of it as the introduction story, where at first every player presents itself, and then a story will take form.... there will be the birth of a new MBL, a new TOMB or something totally new?

Hey guys. Eurostar, don't just wrap up the War story... I think we can stay with the original plot and move things foward. Maybe at the end, both the MBL and TOMB will just disband or something. If in the future, more people begin to return, then the teams could reform (wouldn't be the first time it's happened). I am also for creating another universe that we can work with. Like pro said, some thing new and with a clean slate. So, my votes go to continuing the War story like normal (I will post in a day or two) and creating this new universe (I just introed my character to it). What do you guys think?

Gooz, the war story will go on as we planned. I even hope that more people will join us in it. But as the same time we can have total, unplanned fun on the new Universe...

Starting over from scratch sounds inviting. I don't know if I want to do LLance again or someone new...BLance, FLance, GLance, PLance, FRance...wait a minute...FRance is a country. I'll go for the reboot. I'll keep my eyes open for it to start.

I'm all for a reboot. However, I will still use Avatar. I'm not done with him yet... It will give me a chance to "fix" a lot of things in which I've wrapped Avatar due to testing out different writing methods and themes.

Pro, LOVE the idea. I know I just don't have much time lately to devote myself to following any major storyline in our now-complex universe (we've been busy little beavers over the last two years, haven't we? ), so I'd welcome a TRUE fresh start with open arms. Perhaps my "Chance" character could finally have a chance to live. Maybe an "Insomnia Boy" could come alive in this new world as well... My suggestion would be that this "New Earth" we create have NO history of metahumans or superheroes in the past. In other words, history begins NOW. We focus on the present with an eye towards the future, rather than bog ourselves down in much backstory, other than what is necessary for our own characters. And keep it simple. TTT

I'm all for starting with a blank slate, and wrapping up the convoluted continuity we've created in our old universe. If we're gonna go with this new universe (or "Ultimate MBL" to steal Marvel's terminology...), we might as well lose the War and kill everyone off, just for the hell of it...

Well, it seems that everyone agree on a New Universe. I was reluctant at first, but seeing how the new story is cool (much more cool that any MBL story since Eugene), I'm for the fresh start. I also agree with TTT (sorry, I just can't call you Insomnia Boy ). History begins now, and also lets keep variation to the geography of the world to a minimum. OK Thunder City, OK Mandelovia, but no more fictional places and nations, otherwise we have to print our own Atlas and keep it near the Computer all the time. I have reintroduced the Courts as a dream, but I would also steer away from building a complex mithology for our new universe. All this to have it "user friendly". But as I said somewhere else, having our (old) heroes losing the War would be just not right. They are the heroes, after all. So, let's write our new universe, and while at it, let me and who else is willing to, write the War story. I have planned it for long, Gooz first chapter is cool, many of you know what I have in store, I think it would be a better introduction to the New Universe that saying "They all die, let's starting over". After all, they could be the Earth Two heroes for our New Universe (but no annual crossover! )

Awww come on Euro, let us lose for once! No really, we can still be heroes; some of the best heroic scenes are when the good guys go down in smoke...think of Elric of Melnibone here. He lost BIG TIME, but he was still a darn cool hero.

They are single heroes that died at the hand of the enemy, not that have definitely lost their bettle. It's not that Vader did win, in the end, no? Plus, I think we should wrap up all the loose ends we have left in the stories, like Chewy being possessed by Viper.
