The Kent Farm is [---] that close to being lost forever.

Lex & Louis . . . the start of the "Evil Lex"?

Lionel & Helen . . . she was spying on Lex for Lionel! Did she set up Lex? Hmmm, we'll just have to wait and see...

Chloe & Lionel . . . even though he greeves in his own way, he sure wants the dirt on Clark . . . and bad! Wow.

Kal . . . loved it! It's the comic book geek in me!

Jor-El & Jonathan . . . I want to know what the "sacrifice" will be and what the "true destiny" is as well. All the secrets are making me crazy!

Jonathan & Clark . . . loved seeing the look in Jonathan's eyes as he got up off the floor and then went after Clark. Butt whippin' time!!!

Man . . . I really hate the words "To Be Continued" on a season premier!

After watching all of season 1 and missing all of season 2..i had to go to smallville.com or somesuch to get the lowdown on season 2 so I knew what to expect of the season 3 premiere. the one thing I absolutely know that I like about this show is the relationship between clark and lex...the other relationships generally work well...and I still have no real clue as to how clark and lana get together..but I liked the premiere..red kryptonite...heh....

I really like this show and will now be watching it weekly....i haven't watched a weekly show since farscape got cancelled...

I didn't even bother watching the show when it began. I thought it was gonna be a lame ass teen soapy show like Dawson or Buffy, but its not bad. I saw the last two episodes of season 2, and this one was good enough to keep me another week.

I missed the first ten minutes b/c I was trying to set my damn VCR, so the first time I got to see Lex was when he awoke with a start on the beach. This whole part confused me.

The last scene of the season 2 finale had Lex going nose-first into the ocean...

...When I see him next, he's on a beach with a guy named Louis (Robert Louis Stevenson, anyone?). They talked like they knew each other for a long time (being stranded on an island for 3 months will bring people closer together, I guess).

Did I miss anything with Lex BEFORE the scene where he woke up? Did they say if Lex had known Louis BEFORE being stranded together, or what?

Actually, since Louis was actually (IMMEDIATE SPOILER WARNING!) a hallucination, it doesn't matter. But I wonder why Lex hallucinated him specifically (not like you get a choice when it comes to hallucinations).

I don't think this is necessarily the beginning of the "Evil Lex". I think any person in that situation would snap. Of course, we see that Lex is indeed capable of murder, even the bloody, messy kind, but, like he said, he "had" to do it. I think it just served to show us that Lex isn't afraid to take a life, but we've been shown that before (re: the episode where Dr. Helen's old boyfriend comes a-stalkin'). Yeah, maybe this is the first stepping stone to Lex's eventual evil-ness, but it's going to be a long road ahead.

Rutger Hauer as Morgan Edge? Kick ass!!!! Between him and Terence Stamp, the casting director is a genuis. I wonder who else will guest-star in the future?

The Kent's farm is always on the verge of being lost forever. They need to try something new when it comes to that. Of course, they've never been THIS close before, but still, it's been done, several times.

I'm definitely intriguied by this whole Helen/Lex/Lionel spying game. Are her intentions really evil? If so, she should become a major player in the series, seeing as she has knowledge of Clark's blood samples, AND she's been in Lex's "locked" room, where he keeps the damaged Porsche from the first episode and his own files on Clark. She has all the pertinent information, and she can hold it over Lionel's head. Maybe Lionel did hire her to spy on Lex originally, but she's turned the tables on BOTH of them to weasle herself into a position of power. Pretty freakin' smart woman. And evil, too.

I don't know what the "sacrifice" will be, either. But I think the "true destiny" was kinda revealed in the last couple episodes of season 3, where Jor-El gives Clark a message telling him his destiny is to rule mankind. We're still debating whether or not he translated the message wrong, or if this is maybe a hint of the Eradicator's presence in the Smallville mythos.

And yes... the scene with the super-powered Jonathan kicked ass. Supposedly next episode, he and Clark have a massive battle on top of LexCorp Tower. I wonder how THAT'll turn out. Jonathan finally has the chance to give his son a good ol' Southern ass-whoopin', to whip him back into shape.

Oh, and Chloe's quickly becoming my third favorite character, right beneath Lex, and then Clark. Jonathan's creeping up the status ladder, too.

Non

Oh, and Pig Iron: yes, this is the ONLY show I follow on a weekly basis, too. Fortunately one of my buddies gets me each and every episode on VCD a day or two after they're aired. Since they've pretty much done away with the Freak-of-the-Week formula, each episode continues the story. Missing one would be bad news! ;-)

Great episode overall.

At first I thought the island guy should have been a young Oliver Queen... but then I realized the true intent when he became a vision of what Lex could end up as.

What I really love about this show, other than all the pretty faces and spiffy FX, are the secrets. They're just stackin' em up on top of each other. You can't get enough of it. It's like crack. And boy, do I love crack.

My only question is how they're going to resolve the fact that Kal is doing some big time scores in Metropolis, using his super-powers no less.

No one mentioned Maggie Sawyer and the Daily Planet? I loved this episode and was crushed when the end was 'To Be Continued'. My roommate actually called the whole hallucination thing, maybe Louis (Lewis, whatever) was supposed to represent Lionel and how much Lex hates him. Anyway, seeing Maggie again kicked ass, I love how she was casted. The beginning with the overview of Metropolis was great too. I love how modern they made it. Metropolis looks like it's a real city as opposed to a futuristic one, oh, and the Planet globe...love it! Can't wait till next week!

Saw The SMALLVILLE season 3 premier.
Loved it!

I can't wait to see what happens
Next week!

I've been watching Smallville
since the first episode, first
season. Loved it from the start!

Yes, I too am curious about the
Bargain Jonathan Kent made with Jor - El.

I like the Lex sub plot.
Wonder when Clark will discover
his Super hearing, Telescopic and
microscopic vision?

I'm glad the season premier did NOT
tie up where last season left us all
hanging. I want this to last a few
episodes more. Life's issues, be you man
or Superman, are NOT resolved in a single
one hour show.

I would like to see Pete Ross get a
bigger role in the show.

Clark and Lana should have a date
where the date is NOT interrupted
by a crisis.

How about some other Super guest stars?
Plenty of OTHER young heroes around ....

I forget the actor's name who played
Morgan Edge but I like him and he's Perfect
for the part! He was in Bladerunner, as I
recall.

I think Clark should meet a young
Bruce Wayne. That would be interesting.

More with Jor - El.

Of ALL the media, Comics, movies,
etc, that Superman has been in,
I like the Superman TV series -
Lois and Clark and Smallville -
best. Superman just seems so
real on the small screen....
You can hear his voice, see his
facial expressions change, etc.

Have a great day!

It was a good episode. The best thing about it personally was seeing my city (Vancouver) masquerading as Metropolis. Very, very cool. I guess I can claim to live in Metropolis now.

I didn't even know hockey season was starting until I turned to ESPN and saw the game. Kinda shows what state that sport is in.

Yeah. Although the crowd was a sell out there were an awful lot of empty seats in the lower bowl. The only reason I went was because of half price tickets, and I still spent 52 bucks a pop. The game is too expensive to go to, and doesn't get much national air time, because it's hard to fit in commercials except during intermission. Thank god for NHL center ice where I can watch every game.

They definately need to work something out in the coming year during their collective bargaining agreement meetings to make the sport more affordable to the common fan, and stop laying down for the cocaine and boob-job crowd(the only people who can afford to go to games are those who can afford cocaine and boob-jobs). Of course here in Dallas a Stars game is more of a place to be seen than it ios to watch good hockey.

just watched my digital recording of tonight's episode. fuck, do i enjoy this show!

one odd inconsistancy is chloe's hair. but im way more than willing to chalk that up as being some weird girl thing i wasn't meant to understand.

the show just keeps refreshing itself. whenever specific plot lines look to have run stale or reached a conclusion, things get all flipped around and reversed and chaotic, forming brand new angles and directions. really just great stuff.

(for 10-8's episode)

kal finally becomes clark again and tries to mesh back into a smallville where everything is now different. his relationship with lana, with chloe, with his folks, their home... all of it. (pete is entirely absent thus far in the season, btw). and, while trying to readapt himself back in, he finds out its impossible, and his only hope is to start new relationships with old acquiantances.

lex figures out the mystery of his crash... not his father's doing, but his new wife's! he returns to smallville in similar fashion, also starting anew in all of his respective relationships.

just some damn good stuff, all around.

*Spoilers*
Smallville, West Wing, Cubs game. Lot on TV tonight. I liked the fight scene between Clark and 'Pa', it reminded me of Superman 3. The Lex/Lionel/Helen story shaped out great. But where did Helen go? No body = still alive! Same with Morgan, who actually stole the show for me. There seems to be a backstory to Edge and Luthor. I doubt we've seen the last of him. I can't wait to see how the Lionel vs. Clark story plays out. There's just too much going on at once! That's why I like the show. They seem to be returning to the 'freak of the week' formula starting next week though.

I think the reversion back to normal after taking off the Red Kryptonite right was a bit too fast. It was almost instant. I don't remember it being that fast.

After all, it takes him a bit longer to recover from the Green Kryptonite . . . why not the red too?

Clark's and Lex's return were too fast. Not even 6 minutes in, and they're back on the scene. Lana kills! She's evil!

Morgan and Helen are definate returns.

And didn't we hear the same Chloe/Lana and Clark/Lana convos last year? Move fuckin' on. Leave Clark single, keep the girl's interests indirect and add a green and ambitious Lois investigating the weirdness that occurs at Smallville.

And if they're gonna introduce Wayne, have him as Lex's rival. He should be just as cunning and more mature than Luthor, and possibly even one-up him. Wayne and Kent shouldn't solve a mystery together or none of that shit. Wayne and Lex play mental chess, and the pieces are their shares of their companies. Maybe Wayne small talks with Kent as he leaves the boonies... I mean, Smallville. That's it.

For some reason, I always wanted to see Kyle Rayner on the show.

Somewhere out in the DCU boards is a posting where I lambasted people for trying to get Smallville to "fit" with their preconceived Superman comics continuity.

So far NOTHING except the essentials has remained the same as in the comics. I can't for the life of me understand why the comics community still insists on having Smallville's Clark Kent walk the line to John Byrne.

I for one was exstatic that Perry White was witness to Clark doing superdeeds. This opens up the avenue to a whole reinterpretation of Perry. One that I have never seen realized save for once in Steve Rude's Worlds Finest Prestige book back in the early 90's. That of Perry as a father figure to Clark/Superman and one of the guardians of Metropolis in much the same vein as Batman/Jim Gordon is to Gotham. Having Perry in on the secret would open this up quite nicely I think.

I think the whole point of Smallville is to reimagine and reawaken the Superman myth to a new generation. The further it moves away from the old same old, the better off we all are.

I absolutely loved the episode. I felt it was all out fanboy fun. Perry seeing CK use his powers was pushing it, but I liked how it was executed. The journalist end of the episode kicked ass too. I liked how White used Clark to get to Lana and then used Lana to get to Clark. Tossing Chloe in the mix kicked it up a notch (BAM!). Then there was the in-joke: "Don't call me Chief!" I saw it coming, and cheered when it happened. Fun stuff.

Other great stuff about this episode:
  • Pete.
Clark figuring out the connection between his powers and Earth's yellow sun.
    Pete!
    Claire Foster and Lex
    PETE!
The history between the Luthors and Perry
No Lionel (wait that's not a good thing)
The snippit of next week's episode

I really hope to see more of Perry in future episodes. The show left it open for him to come back. I'd like to see Chloe go to Metropolis and talk to him. I'd also like to see Perry square off with Lionel. [woooOOOOoooo!]

Some people over at the Wonder Woman MB are saying that in the Daily Planet . . . there's a mention of some Themyscrian Queen giving a speech somewhere in New York?

I totally missed it . . . I think it happened about 30 minutes in (or right around there).

Keep your eyes peeled and let me know if it was there. I'd appreciate it!

I believe it does say that. The Planet's on the book cart during Lex's scene with Tim the Tool Man's kid. As he takes out the file and puts it back, it's kinda hard to see, but it's there.

What's my prize?

I saw it too! Smallville hasn't done anything like that since the very first episode with Fastest man alive or whatever it was. This was a very cool episode. I can't wait to see how Clark will handle Loinel's prying.

Official Images From "Whisper!"

The WB has released official images from "Whisper," including one that may confirm a Rumorville rumor from a while back!

Because of the spoilery nature of the images, we are NOT showing a preview thumbnail on this main page. But for long time fans - these should be a treat!

I beleive the Daily Planet newspapaer said "Themyscrian(sp?) Queen adresses Vatican".
