I think mountain dew breaks down as:
75 parts caffeine
15 parts sugar
6 parts crack/heroine blend
3 parts fuzzy blue stuff that grows from cultures underneath moist wooden door frame
1 part manufactured semi-hydroxilated dew (not necessarily from mountains)

At least that's what's printed on the cans...but you can never tell for sure if they're being accurate. There might actually be some bad stuff in there too.

First, I don't think you leave the tea-bag in for that long.

Second, there's a thing called ""set and setting"" which suggests that people act how they think the drug will make them act.

Tea is also more of a diuretic than coffee.

"My favorite Elvis story is perhaps apocryphal. Apparently, in much the same way people often keep candy or mixed nuts in little dishes around the house, the King would have cooked slices of bacon strategically placed in various rooms. Bacon on the end table, bacon near the sofa, bacon on the veranda.

Knowing this gives me an excuse to regale my friends with my Elvis impression: ""...aww, Priscilla. Don't be mad. Have some bacon."" ""Hey, Colonel Tom. How's it going, man? Have some bacon."" ""Dang, boys, you sure play purty. Have some bacon."" It's the ""hassumbacon"" part that makes me chuckle.

I share a birthday with Angelina Jolie, Bruce Dern, Doctor Ruth Westheimer, and ""ER"" star Noah Wylie, who is exactly a year younger than I. (Oddly, the character he plays, while retaining June 4th for his DOB, is my age and thus a year older than real-life Wylie. Must be a med school thing.)

I always need a cup of tea when I check in here. sigh. Does anybody know what this stuff is, that my S.O. brought back from Lithuania? It's in a paper and cellophane bag that reads ""Gurman's,"" it's mostly black tea, and it has bits of dried fruit and mysterious botanical bits. I can identify marigold and something that might be rose.

The word is, it smelled nice in the shop and she can't actually speak Lithuanian, so it's ""pointing at the bin and nodding"" tea until I get better info."

Metal is a better conductor of heat than water. Leaving the spoon in will allow the heat to escape the cup through the spoon. The rate depends upon the size and substance of the spoon.

Stirring the tea will also cause the tea to cool. The tea will at first increase in temperature as the molecules gain temperature in movement. However, more of the tea will be exposed to the air, causing the tea to release more heat than is generated by the stirring.

You're my hero Dave. I've wanted to know the answer to this for about a year now. I was reading about it in an article when my boyfriend threw it away - just as I was getting to the bit with the answer. *SIGH*"

Mike, wouldn't your fillings be insulated by the fact that they're inside your teeth and have a very small exposed surface area?
