I have to say that tonight has been a good night. I got up with enough time to chat with my girl friend who was at home sick, and make a smokes run before going to work.

Got to work and talked with one of my fellow telemarkters about halloween. I think I've a chance of talking him into doing a Spy vs. Spy duo (with me being the black spy of course).

Made a sale in my first 20 minutes. Then on about 7:30 my supervisor was getting ready to send me home early since I hadn't made enough sales. I was however in the middle of a call at the time. This was a situation where someone wasn't too happy with the company that I call for.

Seems someone had called earlier that day from the company and got their daughter on the phone. The little girl aparently heard the gal from our end use some foul language. Apparently she'd said to someone near her desk ""that fucking bitch hung up on me"" and their young daughter heard it.

So naturally they weren't too happy about it. Well I let my supervisor know what was up. She wrote down some details while the man of the house told me when it happened and so forth. Then I start explaining how I can understand that he'd probably not be too keen on hearing the sales pitch for the road side assistance program that we offer. He says ""as long as I got ya on the phone I might as well hear what it's about"".

And before I knew what was what I was getting someone over to my desk to do the verification for the sale! I still got sent home (about an hour later though) but I really impressed everyone. I think the fact that I pulled that off and turned it into a sale made a good enough impression that they won't hold it against me that I didn't make the quota.

So on my way out I stopped to talk to Thom (the penciller I'm working with on a comic book right now). He took a smoke break to talk about another idea he wants to do at some point.

Got home and my girl friend was feeling better. After chattin awhile I got a load of laundry started then went to go take some dvd's back to the rental place and get some quarters (we live at an apartment with a laundry mat just a short walk away).

Killed some time at Hastings (the video rental story that's also a book store, music store, and sells video games, god I love that place) checkin out a cool article on the next Grand Theft Auto game for PS2.

After that I stopped to get a soda for Diana and on the way home stopped to take a look at the latest progress on a mural being done on the side of a paint store. It reminds me of the sea of Quiddity from Clive Barkers Books of the Art series (Great and Secret Show being the first, followed by Everville [if you've not read those I highly recommend them] with a third one yet to come).

Got home and had dinner with Diana while we watched Star Trek Enterprise and that new version of The Twilight Zone with Forrest Whitaker. The first feature they showed mostly sucked. The second one with a guest appearance by Shannon Elizabeth totally rocked though. It even made comic books look cool.

Then a cuddled with my sweet sweet woman for awhile. After that I got up to do some writing. I just recently took a break from writing. Managed to get 11 pages done on the comic I'm working on with Thom and started some work on a novel that popped into my as an almost fully formed idea about a week ago.

I sit here smoking a carnival brand cigarrette (i.e. cheapie brand smoke) that I lit with a zippo my dad gave me awhile back. It's got a picture of an old style Naval Ship from when they were still made of wood. As I sit here smoking that cigarrette I'm also drinking a cup of orange pekoe & pekoe cut black tea that I brewed with a generic style tea bag.

Yup I definitely gotta say that tonight has been a good night.

Good night."
