Is it acceptable for pi to be your lucky number and if so do you have to name all the digits following the decimal place?

I think my lucky number must be 37 because there was a time, many years ago, when both my parents and one set of my grandparents lived in houses with the number 37.

They also both moved out of them at roughly the same time. I believe that growing up in such close proximity to the number 37 has had a significant effect. Perhaps they were worried about the effect it was having on me, like living too close to an elctricity pylon, and that was the reason they both moved.

Okay, I’m going to jump in with both feet and proclaim myself the living god of 37. 37 is a prime number and thus is less susceptible to being broken down by the smaller divisive numbers of the lesser numerical gods.

If you experience any kind of fortuitous event involving the number 37, such as winning £37, or if one of your numbers on a winning lottery ticket is 37, then you may take this as blessing.

Conversely, if you suffer a misfortune that somehow involves the number 37 – You are fined for speeding in a residential area while driving at 37 MPH - Your train is 37 minutes late, then this means you have displeased me in some way.

It's getting hard to post on this thread. Are we reaching critical mass?

I believe it represents the number of posts on ""Teabags"" before the thread went spiraling wildly out of control. At this point we're all just pretty much hanging on for dear life."

The fine structure constant.

You can go to http://members.shaw.ca/quadibloc/science/phyint.htm and read the last two sentences.

Or, more keeping in the spirit of our hallowed thread, you can take it as the ratio of water molecules to non-water molecules in an optimal cup of tea.

I suspect Rob will shut us down long before then.

Fun With Teabags

The Reid Library Coffee Shop at the University of Western Australia has a wide and open view of gardens and the neoclassical architecture which makes it one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever visited. It has a moat with ducks and koi, and the breeze filters through the wall-less boundaries to the coffeeshop, and its a very pleasant place to take a break from study.

If you look upwards, however, there are teabags haging from the ceiling. Bored students toss their wet teabags upwards, where they stick to the concrete roof, the tabs on the ends of the strings twisting in the breeze."

" This reminds me of a trick a friend of mine in high school used to do. During lunch he'd take a can of soda (or sometimes he's use a little carton of milk) and throw it against the outer wall of the cafeteria trying to make it stick to the wall. He often got some really good height with them.

Every semester the home ec class would take home baby dolls with computer chips in them for a weekend. The idea was to give them an idea of what it'd be like having a kid. The chip would monitor things like whether they 'fed' the babies or were abusive. This same friend would run around on the friday that students took these dolls home and grab the babies and shake em around or smack em.

This has nothing to do with tea of course. I just think this guy would fit into our corwd nicely. :) "

I believe the Mongolian hordes under Genghis Khan threatened Europe armed with wet teabags, which they whirled above their helmets as they entered into combat in order to intimidate their opponents.
