Red, I'm not trying to contradict Adrian, but I do get the impression that elements of the London contingent know each other, which makes sense. They are a lot more likely to have met up than everyone else. On the other hand, people were definitely looking each other up at conventions over the summer, which is nice. "

I met some of the Liverpool contingent and the Brighton contingent at Bristol this year, and some of the Norway contingent and the Austria contingent at Bristol last year.
There might be people I know hiding behind ""pseudonyms"" I suppose.
There's much more people who I know only from here. Yourself, Savs 1 & 2, Res, among others. Ade"

This is good stuff Alistair. I read through 'The Nasty Little Man' and I really enjoyed it. Using that ornamental castle like a roach motel to trap the spirit, was a great idea. Wish I's thought of it. I was also very impressed by the economy of the artwork.
I'm in the process putting most of my worldly possesions into boxes, as I have top ut them into storage.
I've been giving the boxes names, so that I know whats inside them.
So far they've all been named after species of shark, different varieties of insect, towns and cities of The Yemen Repbublic and, as a tribute to this aged thread, one of the boxes has been christened: 'Teabags'.

OK, now I've read your work. I liked it. I especially like the idea of two nice old ladies (or are they ladies? They COULD be nice old queens) as supernatural detectives. Just one minor thing. I'm a bit miffed that they didnt't do anything about the child abuse in ""The nasty little man""... OK, so they did a good job with the ghost, but he's still going to beat her up when she does something bad, isn't he? But other than that: Great stuff! ------------------ --- ""History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon."" -Napoleon"

One thing at a time. Whilst I like to tie most things up at the end of each piece, don't you get the impression that story isn't really over? The little girl knows ghosts are real, and magic works, and that some grown ups know this too. Her friend's mum's a witch who might teach her things, or might have books she can steal... I think we may see her again, yes, but not for a little while. Back on topic - why isn't there a tea equivalent to Starbucks? Or do they do tea? Or are old style 'ye olde tea shoppes' their forerunners?"

I think Starbucks do do tea, or at least something vaguely reminescent of tea. The last time I was in one somebody I'd gone with got a cup of dubious looking pink stuff she claimed was some sort of fruit flavoured tea."

Anyone who actually asks for something like that deserves all they get. This is me: ""Coffee, please."" Moron behind the counter: ""Espresso, cappucino, latte, lo-fat, soy, columbian, dry roast, idunnoi'mmakingthiscrapupnow, corn-fed goat-cheese coffee, frappadocio, decaf, recaf, ... oh, he's leaving. Was it something I said?"" Anyway, I'm sure demon spit fetches good prices in the right market. Count yourself lucky."

Oooh, actually in Nasty Little Man (the Oddcases one) there is a kettle though so that's sort of a tea reference. :D "
