I don't know that the issue is "PC" per se, as much as it is the nation becoming filled with people who operate under the principle that being offended is the same thing as being damaged/harmed.

It's as though you should be able to take legal action against someone if they do nothing more than offend you or hurt your feelings. Witness the outrage over Janet Jackson's nipple, and that someone almost immediately started up a class action suit against her et al, claiming that she and others were damaged by simply having SEEN Jackson's breast and nipple.

Now to my way of thinking, a claim of "being damaged" by seeing her boob is outrageous. I will admit that it was inappropriate to display the boob during the halftime, but I don't see how anyone, young or old, can sustain the argument of having been damaged by this. Offended, ok, fine, I can accept somebody got offended. But being offended should not constitute grounds to take legal action, and I say that as one of the more liberal thinkers in Rob's little slice of heaven here.

As a society or even as subgroups within that society, we need to focus on taking action on issues greater than the merest of offenses.
