Has anyone here been watching it this season? It's been very, very good so far. I think that's mainly do to with the fact that Joss Whedon doesn't have anything else taking up his time this year....

Anyone?

For the past few weeks, I've been taping Smallville, and at the end, I would get the first two or so minutes of Angel, and would be highly entertained by them. So this week, I decided to set my VCR for an extra hour and watch Angel as well.

I didn't understand a damn thing, initially, but was able to pick up fairly quickly what was going on, subplots, etc. I was very impressed, and even laughed out loud at certain places.
I'll be watching from now on.

I also noticed that mad genius Ben Edlund is a Supervising Producer, and figured that's where it came from.

I've been watching the show all this season, and while I've been out of the loop on many things, I still find the show highly entertaining. I loved Spike's comments about Wesley being "Head Boy."

And "Percy".

Wes was the motherfucker last night. Killing with extreme prejudice! That scene was cool and fucked up at the same time.

Yeah. Wes has come a long way since his bumbling Watcher days. Too bad he wasn't toting around his sawed-off this episode...

I was very glad to see Wesley shoot without hesitation like that. That always pisses me off when that situation comes up and the "hero" doesn't just shoot the guy.

This has been my fave season. I never really warmed up to this show but since it was the Buffy spin off I kept tuning in. Odd thing is, I'm not that much of a Spike fan but the chemistry between him & Angel really brings out the best in both actors IMHO.

The rest of the cast have grown on me too. JW & gang have really turned this around for me.

For all those people who couldn't wait for Buffy characeters to appear on Angel...lots of rumours are circulating about who will and who won't, and confirmed is Tom Lenk, who plays Andrew will be in episode 11 of the new series, called Damage. It is in fact episode 99, which could open up the way for other charecters in the next 100th episode of Angel.. Also rumours of XANDER HARRIS not being completely cut out of the Buffy/Angelverse..!!!

After Eve tells them about a prophecy that states that the only way to restore order is to find the Cup of Perpetual Torment that bestows human life, Angel and Spike battle it out for the ultimate prize. A series of flashbacks show the history of Angel and Spike and their relationship with Drusilla.

The return of Lindsey McDonald formerly of Wolfram & Hart. Very interesting stuff!

As soon as Eve started talking, I knew it had to be Lindsey. The question is, is it him, or is he merely a puppet of his evil hand?

I was really really surprised to see Lindsey show up.

So much for him living the quiet life in the midwest....

The fight between Angel and Spike was pretty suh-weet, too.

As I mentioned above, I'm new to this show. Someone please explain to me the tattooed man and the ugly flat-faced chick? And why James Marsters looked like the Dawson's Creek guy on crack?

I'm assuming that by the "tattooed man" you mean, Lindsey MacDonald ...

Lindsey appeared as a nameless, Wolfram & Hart lawyer in the very first episode of Angel ("City of..."). We all waited patiently and finally, Lindsey McDonald showed up again in "Five by Five." We found out that Lindsey was definitely one of the bad guys when, after Angel foiled one of his court cases, he hired Faith to kill him. His plan went sour when Faith had a breakdown and wound up a guest in Angel's home. Lindsey then brought the matter to the police department, when he told Kate that Angel was hiding Faith. In "Blind Date" we found out that Lindsey has a soft side. When he found out that a blind woman who his firm had just defended, was going to kill a group of children. Lindsey went to Angel and asked for his help in saving the children. At first, Angel was skeptical, but he did lend his help to the frightened lawyer. Lindsey risked his life by going against Wolfram and Hart. Lindsey did do the right thing, by saving the children, but when a new offer arose for him at Wolfram and Hart, instead of walking away from the corrupt firm, he took it. In the season finale "To Shanshu in L.A.", Lindsey aided the firm as they brought a demon, called Vocha, out to destroy Angel and his friends, Cordelia and Wesley, and to perform something called the raising (in which they raised Angel's sire, Darla). In a final battle with Angel, Lindsey suffered a major loss...in hand, when Angel chopped it off in an effort to keep Lindsey from burning a scroll that contained Angel's prophecy and also Cordelia's cure.

Eve -- the flat faced chick? . . . she's Angel's liaison to the senior partners at Wolfram & Hart. That's about all we've seen with her so far . . . well, aside from last night when she climbed in bed with Lindsey.

This only brings up more questions. Did I need to watch all previous seasons to understand everything, plus all of Buffy?

All of Buffy and Angel? Damn . . . that's like 12 years of combined stuff there.

It'd take you less time to read through it all than to watch it all.

However, if you want the breifest of rundowns on Seasons 1-5 of Buffy, go HERE. UPN has condensed the entire season down onto one page with all the "highlights" in bullet points. Seasons 6 & 7, however, are done by individual episodes.

I haven't found a site that does this for Angel, but then again it may be out there somewhere.

I've caught an episode or two of Buffy, and I didn't like it. Thus, my hesitancy to get into Angel (again, I attribute it all to Ben Edlund).

So, yeah, I guess I just need a primer course. I knew the end of this past episode (and well, most of the entire episode) was supposed to mean something to longtime fans, but as a newcomer, it meant almost nothing to me.

They used to do "Previously, on Angel..." bits before each episode, so even if you missed something, it was fairly easy to be brought up to spped. Don't know why they stopped. Though it's not officially in syndication, a few networks have started showing reruns on a weekly basis. TNT does this I believe, as does my local Fox affiliate. Also the first and second seasons are on DVD.

Angel is still extremely suspicious of Eve and requesting that security keep an eye on her while she's in the building.

Cordelia is not only up and around, but she's extremely unhappy to discover exactly what Angel has been doing in her absence. More specifically, who he's gotten into business with.

Also, if you like Angel, then you might be interested to know that Eden Studios is coming out with an Angel RPG, and it should be out this month.

I've been catching Angel reruns on TNT whenever I get a chance to go to my parent's house. I'm gonna have to get cable someday.

I just found TNT shows episodes weekdays at 5, but with my schedule, I miss it a lot.

Just gotta wait for Season 3 DVD this February. I literally only saw two episodes that year. Christ, brilliant move WB. Put Angel on Mondays where it can compete with WRESTLING & FOOTBALL. Thank god they saw the error of their ways...

Y'know, I'm not a fan of Buffy, but at least Angel isn't on UPN. If it were, at least where I live, if you don't have cable, you're screwed. Hell, even people that do have cable and get UPN get shitty reception. Again, where I live anyway.

I like Angel, but I don't like the direction it's taken. Just my opinion.

They HAD to do something drastic to keep the show from getting stale, but there's too much going on around Angel for the show to be ABOUT Angel. This has quickly become "The Wolfram and Hart Show" - not that it's ALL bad - the ep with about Harmony was pretty kewl.

Thank God Cordy is coming back. I miss that smart ass.

I liked this episode. They have made Harmony so cool.

Yeah, but then I always thought Harmony was kind of cool. The fight between her & Xander in Buffy Season 4 was priceless.
