there was a whole article on cnn's site i was reading this morning about the 'advanced' korean / black relations in LA
(it was the koreans who suffered most of the physical and fiscal damage during the attacks, as it was their stores being burned and their store owners being beat up).
it discusses the MAJOR community outreach program put out a few years ago between each side, and highlited the discussion with one inparticular korean store owner, who now happily sits outside his store on a stool, greeting the black customers who come in (i assume he greets all the customers, but, thats how the article read).
LA-wise, i have no clue if things are any better or worse, as i've never been there.
locally, id say with each passing day things get better. i dunno if they've reached a point to state that they're "good," but you can certainly note improvement with each year that goes by.
