Now that sounds like either the most highly creative defense stategy I've heard since "If the glove don't fit..." or the most offensive, insulting load of stinky, steaming horse shit I've heard since "If the glove don't fit..."
Hmmm...
Better or worse since the riots...on an individual level, I'd say better. I think that more people are able to accept others based solely on who they "are" rather than what they are perceived to "be".
Culturally...things seem to be better. America has been going thru a sort of HipHop-inization for the last few years. Madison Avenue has discovered the wisdom of usuing Urban music and symbolism to sell things, the current generation seems to be more culture blended than in the past. Music, fashion and culture in general are benefitting from the blending other 2 or more diffent cultures into a true...melting pot of experience. The suburban white kid can enjoy Biggie or Jay-Z as well as P.O.D. and Creedance tapes without being called a wigger, while the inner city black kid can get into extreme sports as well as B-ball and lust after Brittney Spears like everybody else without being accused of being a sell-out. not the best examples but, you get my point.
On a societal level...nothing has changed. If anything, things appear to be getting worse. even as more individuals seem to be reaching a state of enlightenment with respect to race relations, our society and government seem to being doing more and more to create divisions where there need be none.
